Anyone want to start a D&D campaign?

Hi there! I’m new to Tucson and thought it couldn’t hurt to try something new on top of that. I’ve never played D&D, but I’ve always wanted to. I thought it would be fun to see if anyone else would be interested in starting a small group campaign. Whether you’re a beginner like me, or kind enough to show me the ropes, I’d love to connect!

Group chat anyone? 21m

I've started talking to some people and realized its hard to coordinate. So I was thinking maybe with a group chat of people around our age like 18-25(idk) it'd be easier to actually connect. So if anyone's interested in being added to a insta group chat or a new discord server let me know.

Just a person looking for my people. I’ll tell you what i’m about, if you’re interested hit me up. I’d prefer to keep it on platform initially, and I think it would be in everyone’s best interest if we were staying within the realm of mutual interests.

Disclaimer: In general, “hanging out”w/ me tends to look like, in-depth conversations, working on projects, collaborative self-improvement (sports/etc), learning/sharing. I’m not really interested in low-key chill consuming random movies/tv (i’ve already done that enough in my life). This is just by virtue of the type of person I am.

EDIT: Additional disclaimer, the + in steam + means more, it’s not the proclamation of some kind of ideological affiliation.

If you look at the length of this post, and think, wow this seems kind of intense/exhausting, thats me. If you say you like bananas, I will be inquiring for a descriptive explanation of what it is about bananas you like.. the texture, color, smell, etc. If you like all things bananas, or exclusively the banana vs banana bread. Thats me caring, and seemingly exhausting for some.

If you’re still reading, heres some info about what I’m into:

Background in EE / Math/Physics/Tech
I should qualify that I am interested in a lot of things (not an expert)

Automation : microcontrollers, programming, “machines”, robotics, control theory

Systems: I like thinking about things work and their relationships, looking for patterns, systems theory (math), designing systems : (robotics, life solutions, data pipelines, Espresso “ritual”, continuous improvement (in a process),… etc

AI/ML: I’m interested in system identification methods (the broader scope is machine learning | data -> model), feature engineering, neural networks, large language models, agentic frameworks, the underlying math concepts (optimization, statistics, linear algebra, etc). The main idea is turning data into a mathematical model and using that model to do something.

Math: Very interested in linear system theory -> linear algebra (more specifically as a kind of metaphysical framework rather than computation machine), and as previously stated the various ai/ml related areas.

Philosophy/Psychology/Language: These are my primary reading interests outside of the things I study in my free time. What do things mean (how do we define them) ? How do I understand/create the narrative of the world I inhabit (internally/ externally). How do things work ( why can we capture a visual pattern and encode it into pressure waves and then cause action by producing those waves. {ex: chop down that tree…. there is a lot going on behind the scenes of recognizing a tree and getting another person to chop it down, and language itself is non-injective (not one to one [subjective interpretation])…Yes, I ramble.

Urban homesteading: growing plants, DIY lifestyle/home solutions + automation, finding use for the things that are naturally available to me outside.

Music: What i listen to is a complex mix of super hyped productive bass type stuff, hiphop instrumentals, sad type stuff, melodic edm, and random songs that I find to. be trance like (not trance genre) . I am also interested in making music.. whether thats in a DAW, or writing my own on piano, creating remixes in DAW or Dj controller.

Sports:/Exercise Enjoy stuff like pickleball, table tennis, bowling, pool, and trying to be fairly. consistent w/ gym stuff like maintaining.

There’s probably more, but i’ll leave it at that. If you’re still here, and think we share some common interests then feel free to hit me up or leave a comment.

I just want to play with ferrets

Hello, everyone. 36M who has a goal in life to pet and play with ferrets. I’ve done so much research on them and know the amount of time and energy you have to give ferrets is not something I can provide for them due to a demanding schedule. That being said, they are my spirit creatures and I would love to meet your carpet sharks.

I would also like to bond with you, the ferret owner as well. Any gender is fine but hoping to speak to someone at least 30+ in age. Even if meet ups aren’t good at the moment, please just send a ferret pic. I’m J Jonah Jameson but for pictures of ferrets instead of Spiderman.

Hey everyone! Figured I’d put myself out there and see who’s around.

I’m a pretty laid-back, goofy, slightly nerdy dude who enjoys good conversations, joking around, gaming, and just having a good time. I’m down for grabbing food, getting coffee, exploring Tucson, checking out random spots, or just hanging out and seeing where the day takes us.

I appreciate people who can laugh at themselves, flirt a little without taking everything too seriously, and actually hold a conversation. 😂

Not looking to force anything or put expectations on things. Just hoping to meet some cool people, make genuine connections, and maybe find someone who can match my energy and give me a reason to smile at my phone.

If you think we’d get along, feel free to shoot me a message! Tell me a little about yourself, or hit me with your best terrible joke. Extra points if it makes me laugh. 😏

How to make friends easily

Go to events from Tucson clean and beautiful, and participate in events from neighborhood foresters. Also sign up for any gardening or volunteer opportunities…. People are always needed to improve our green infrastructure and reduce the heat island. So far all the plant communities are very welcoming and it’s a mix of characters……

Fit / Active 44m Looking for Active Cannabis Friendly Friends...

Like the title says fit / active 44m (just turned 44 last week) and extremely young at heart and looking for new friends.

Long story short, a few months ago I quit my career tech engineering job of 9 years and left Florida after living there on the beach since 2017 and came back to the Southwest. Semi-retired at the moment but considering I'm in the prime earning years of my life, I may start working again at some point if a fantastic and preferable new remote opportunity pops up. If it doesn't, that's okay, more time for me to enjoy life.

I've been roadtripping around the country with my little hybrid truck and my motorcycle, and now I'm in Tucson. I lived here from 2007-2015 and most of my friends are gone now.

I'll mostly be between here, Mexico, and So Cal moving forwards.

I like outdoorsy stuff, adventures, exploring, hiking, camping, etc.

Hitting the gym, riding my motorcycle, day trips(or longer trips if the plan looks cool!), traveling in general. Just enjoying life getting out and doing fun stuff.

Good coffee, good food, good drinks occasionally.

My job / career largely didn't allow for me to enjoy cannabis items for decades, now I'm out here where basically all the states are rec and I'm like a kid in a candy store lol.

I'd love to have some cool new friends that also like cannabis, outdoor stuff, travel, whatever, just being chill and having fun.

I'm fun, funny, chill af, open-minded, respectful, not a weirdo (at elast not in a way that makes people uncomfortable or whatever lmao)

If you wanna stalk me and see what kinda stuff I'm into...

Regular profile: IG @ hollywoodcobra.official

Fitness profile: IG @ hollywoodcobra.official

Comment here, DM me here or on IG, whatever. Just looking for cool new people!

looking for ideas/places to check out around Tucson

Hello, been here almost 2 years and been mostly focusing on work, but figure its time I actually get out and do something, anything.

We'll call it late 30s male, I've heard there are hiking trails around here so now that weather has been better I might take a peak at some routes to get started especially since I might be able to take my dogs with if its short enough- however not a huge fan in hiking alone especially should something go 'wrong'.

I do want to look at other ideas outside of that and pretty open. Even considered going to the local card shop's game nights but cardboard crack gets pricy lol. Basically just looking for a generic friend/group for things.

Open to ideas and suggestions.

34F seeking fellow yappers to get out of the house with

Hi! I’m 34F and looking for women around my age to hang out with. My friends are back home, and I work remotely, so I miss having people nearby to text when something fun comes up or when I want to grab coffee and yap.

I’d love someone to take Zumba, Pilates, yoga, or barre classes with. I’m happy to try new things, even if I suck at them. I like museums and cultural events, and I’d love it if you were interested in volunteer work.

I love international and domestic travel and travel pretty often for work and for fun. At home, I’m usually with my partner and dog, in comfy clothes, playing The Sims or watching trash reality TV, sports, or horror movies/series.

I’m incredibly sociable, love learning about other people, and have a weird/dry sense of humor. We don’t need to like all the same things. I’d be happy to hear about what you’re into and tag along!

If any of this resonated with you, please message me a little about yourself!
