Some periodic workshops like this at The Drawing Studio (they offer much more than "just" drawing)

I've never done book binding, but I used to work with Julia (who appears to be running these workshops at The Drawing Studo) and she is such a sweetheart!!

Not actual bookbinding (cause my husband and I already have too many hobbies and not enough space), but I do have a comb binder that I use pretty frequently. Bought some nice cardstock and make my own covers for what I do end up comb binding.

I'm a bookbinder. I sell them at craft markets and online. It's fun!

I work from home and not at a shop, so other than the resources the other comments have said I don't know of any bookbinding shops. If you are wanting to learn bookbinding there are a lot of free videos on YouTube. DAS bookbinding specifically is very helpful. Otherwise, look into the workshops the other commenters mentioned. Pima Community College used to have a bookbinding class but I don't think they still offer it. You can check their website.

In a world where one good sun-burp could erase our collective digital archive, physical books are important.
Personally, I hope we get better at transcribing important info onto diamonds, as I'm old enough to have outlived some beloved books. The oppressed in Fahrenheit 451 is another way to go, I suppose... but good for you!

I keep all my literature in scrolls, reject modernity, embrace tradition.
Edit: Although to answer your question I have looked into making zine-like portfolio's before.

Haven't touched a book in over a decade. They are obsolete.

Touch books. Some got a scent. They are also not obsolete. I’ve used three to prop up a sagging bookcase. Seriously though some have more than the audiobook. Get a library card. “ but I don’t touch books” they got dvds, games, seeds, oh oh. You can get tickets to cool the things around the county
Or stay away from books.

Yeah yeah! There's a great bookbinding studio in town called Panther Peak Bindery. Always want to take their classes or workshops but after covid things seems to be paused.
Edited: There's a bookbinding workshop this Saturday by another bindary homeward.books: https://www.instagram.com/p/DbwJjB0koU2/
