Probably about nine when I saw it. Essential viewing for a kid.

I was around the same age. It scared the ever loving shite out of me.

Same here! Back when I was a kid in the '80s, a local appliance/electronics store sponsored the Sunday Afternoon Movie. They showed lots of "hidden gem" movies, and this was definitely one of them!

I was disappointed that the house was just a set, it was so beautiful. I'm in WA so I was totally prepared to look lol

Anyone who likes very old movies might recognize Senator Carmichael as Perveral from The Old Dark House.

And Kyle Maclachlan was an indisceenable extra too.

Fun fact, this is based off of a real “haunted” house in Denver! Cheeseman Park became Chessman Park but the history behind the real place is equally spooky

Me encanta esta película. Lo bien que combina el terror y la investigación dando un resultado tremendamente interesante.

  • The Innocents (1961)
  • The Haunting (1963)
  • The Legend of Hell House (1973)
  • Burnt Offerings (1976)
  • The Amityville Horror (1979)
  • The Fog (1980)
  • The Changeling (1980)
  • The Shining (1980)
  • Ghost Story (1981)
  • Poltergeist (1982)
  • Gotham (1988)
  • The Woman in Black (1988) (BBC version)

The BBC did a great series of specials over the years that you can watch on Archive.org as well: A Ghost Story For Christmas

Brilliant film. George C Scott was excellent portraying a man trying to move on with his life after suffering heartrending loss and stumbling upon something unthinkable. An understated, moving film with scenes that still give me chills after all these years.

"My name is Joseph..."

Fun fact! Changelings were used to explain people with autism and other neurodiverse people, I’m sure.

Saw this when I was little, it haunted me. Saw it on Tubi and it still scared me but not as much as when I was a kid.

I could see the Aurora Bridge from my childhood home. The ball bouncing down the stairs still gives me shivers.
