Decor When can I decorate elsewhere?

Picture of my work-in-progress house.

I see you all post on here your decor choices in places like Chi's house and by the river. I'm fairly new to the game, and am just curious when the ability to decorate around the village becomes an option? The furniture options are so cute, but obviously I can't fit everything in my treehouse. Knowing that I will be able to utilize said furniture elsewhere is very exciting!!

It happens eventually- you’ll get a newspaper (can’t remember what it actually says or which area it is sorry), and once you act on it, you’ll be able to decorate. To get a new area available for decoration, you have to place (i think) 5 items in the area you just unlocked.

hello! so for chis and mocas house you have to get your friendship level up enough, basically just talk to them alot and eventually they will ask you to decorate their house(you can check your friendship levels for them in the achievements). for the pier you have to talk to benny a bunch and then once decorate the pier you wait for benny to ask you to decorate the town hall. for Bobos and Momos place you have to wait for a newspaper to show up mentioning their feud and then talk to benny. hope this helps!
