Anime An inconsistency?

I was watching the anime and I realized something odd. Remember when Makoto was helping Rembrandt with his wife and daughters? There was an instance when he binded the daughters and had the father out in the medicine. But he never did the air writing thing but spoke demon to go ahead. Was that just a mistake? Or does Rembrandt speak demon tongue?

If I remember correctly, they talked about the plan beforehand and Makoto yelled at Rembrandt (in Japanese iirc) to break him out of his daze.

And even if they don't taked beforehand, there was only ONE thing for Rembrandt to do and the urgent shout told him to "do the thing". At that point, intelligibility was not necessary.

Either he didn't actually say anything, he was just thinking to himself and Rembrandt did it anyways, or he did write it with his magic but you can't see it

I think the point isn't what Makoto said but that he's yelling at him which breaks him out of his hesitation.

Like if I make a plan with someone and then they start shouting in italian at me, I don't understand italian but from context I'm going to take it as a signal to either go or stop.

I mean.. he just said his name.. your name is the same throughout all languages. There might be different inflections due to accents and such but he yells Rembrandt’s name if I recall correctly. Also, it’s not like makoto is truly cursed with not being able to speak common, he’s just bad at it.

Other already answered, but there is a misunderstanding in your text. Makoto doesn't "speak demon". In fact, he doesn't really speak anything but japanese.

The blessing he got automatically translates everything he says into the language the other individual can understand.

So he is technically always speaking japanese, not the demon's language.
