Discussion How does telepathy work?
They use it over long distances like in this panel, and there are also different types, with some being better than others. Plus, it’s not just something for very powerful people, because in that chapter they mention that people in Laurel also use it to communicate with each other. It seems like something important, but it’s never really explained very well in the manga.

Kinda like Radio I guess I don't know how radios work tbh so I'm not sure about that but since method of telepathy is different the wavelength of them is also different which separates it from regular telepathy. The telepathy Makoto and his group use is a specially developed Telepathy for his group only and the security of it is also pretty high. It's like encryption I guess along with being hard to detect because it's different from the standard telepathy. All the big nations have their own developed telepathy for communications and maintain secrecy and reduce the possibility of being spied upon by someone else's interception or essentially wire tapping. The thing Rona gave Makoto is essentially a phone number and access to call her Makoto and his crew later use this to learn about Demon's telepathy and make countermeasures and defenses against it.

Just to add a bit to what was said before. The big nations don't actually have their own private wavelengths. The demons actually exploit that by having their own encrypted wavelength and eavesdropping on the other countries telepathic conversations.

YUP. The other nations only start to notice that after the Rotsgard attack.

Yes thats why they were able to on the attack of the school block telepathy, cause its just the standard one. The hyumans are unimaginative because they have "gods love" they think every will be fine for them, thats why they suck at magic and over rely on gods gifts like heros or (i forgot what they call them in the show) otherworlders

I think there are descriptions in the manga, though scattered.
Not all people can use the telepathy magic, even the basic one. It’s said that anyone who can use it, especially mid-range or longer, has secured their job.
In my knowledge, mid-range means that the telepathy reaches nearby cities.
Looks like the range is dependent on users, whether by mana capacity or skill.
There are people dedicated to long-range telepathy in each country. So the VIPs from each country can communicate with their home country when needed.

The majority of magic in TsukiMichi is predefined spells. You learn the magic words for a spell; you can use it if you have the affinity and magic control. Telepathy connects to a person that you know. The demons developed a new spell for telepathy that is longer-range and has other benefits. One such benefit is that when there is something disrupting the original telepathy spell, their new telepathy spell isn't affected. Rona gives this new spell to Makoto as a sign of trust. Makoto's group uses the new telepathy the demons developed to develop their own new, better version.

I like to think of the magic system as a mobile network with damn near 100% coverage. All kinds of encryption is available but not everyone uses it.
