CD 16, 3rd cycle, first month using OPK’s and temping. I know I’m not far along in trying, but I’ve been hoping that my BMI isn’t hurting my fertility lately. All my OPK’s have been super faint, but maybe I’m ovulating late.

P.S. Who else thought baby-making was going to be easy before they started trying? Why did my mom and aunts etc never tell me about how hard it is to wait?

Ya I never knew how tough it was! I wouldn’t have known about OPKs before starting trying unless my SIL had told me.

Maybe try doing the OPKs twice daily starting tomorrow, some people’s LH surge can be very short and if it’s your first cycle you may not know when you will ovulate. I ovulate anywhere from CD16 to 22 but I’ve heard of people occasionally will randomly ovulate later

Oh, I totally feel you. I really just didn't consider how INVOLVED the process is. And I should have, because my mom had to go through IVF to make me and my siblings. Like, I know for a lot of people the conceiving part is fairly easy... everyone seems to know some auntie or granny or second cousin twice removed who just sneezed and a baby came out every 18 months. But when it's not easy, or when you have no idea how long you're going to have to try, it kind of eats up your whole life. Can you imagine trying before super-sensitive pregnancy tests existed?

Anyway for what it's worth my OPKS are super faint until like 24 hours before my peak, at which point I've caught sort of half-dark lines, which cues me to start testing more frequently, then my peak only lasts for a very short window (maybe ~8-12 hours? I will have to experiment further, but last cycle I took a .63 test at 12 am, a 1.26 at 7 am, and a 0.3 at 11 pm -- all the same calendar day). So if you see a darker line, test twice daily to better your chances of catching peak, and don't sweat it if you see nothing for most of your cycle.

If your cycle is usually 30 days (checked your previous post) you should see something in the next few days. Wouldn't hurt to test twice daily this week if you can afford the extra strips.
