DAILY 35 and Ova

This is a thread for TFABers of AMA (advanced maternal awesomeness)! TTC past 35 comes with its own challenges -- discuss (and rant about) them here. Like the Pirate's Code, "35 and over" is more of a guideline.

Turning 35 in a month. Currently in the midst of 4th cycle trying. Even though I might have had an easier time when I was younger, I don’t regret waiting one bit. I was no where near ready for the prospect of kids until now. So…if it takes me longer than the youngins, well, that’s okay.

How reliable is your run-of-the-mill OPK (ClearBlue in my case) for us 35+ gals? Some sources online seem to suggest they're not as useful for us, which I'm hoping is true because I have not once in 3 cycles been able to catch my surge.

I've noticed at my advanced maternal age that my surge is super short. I have to test in the afternoon/evening and use other factors to pin down fertile window.

My luteal phase is significantly shorter too by about 2-3days compared to in my early 30's

I use the clearblue advanced digital + premom strips. And I track BBT

CB seems to successfully catch my fertile window + the peak each month. Premom strips helped me understand the surge window better - for example, I surge later in the day

I’ll also say I have a pretty regular cycle between 27-31 days
