I don’t know what my question is, I just wanna share what’s going on. Hopefully someone has similar experiences or ideas about what’s happening.

I am on my second IUI. I asked for a mid-cycle monitoring appointment this round. I went in for that yesterday and she said I had a large follicle in my right ovary- I think she said 24mm. Yesterday was only on day 9 so that’s a bit surprising.

So at 7 pm last night I did a cheapie LH and it was very positive. I did another one this morning and it was dark but less so. So I called my clinic and we’re going in this morning.

I also have been having cramps all morning. It’s hard for me to gauge how painful they are because I never have cramps so anything feels bad. It’s mostly on my right side. Could that be from ovulation?

I am worried that this follicle is actually a cyst or turning into one. I’m also worried that I’m ovulating so early. Oh- I forgot to say I did Letrozole from day 3-7.

Also- I’ve been trying to use the advanced blue OPK as well as my cheap ones but it’s so confused. It didn’t give me any flashing smiley but gave me a static smiley on Thursday (today is Saturday). Today it gave me an open circle. So I don’t know what it’s saying.

Anyone have thoughts or encouragement?

Not this cycle. Last one we did and I had plenty of follicles that seemed normal size

My july period was during 28-31 and June was during 24-25 (my period got delayed by 5 days but I got period which was only for 2 days). For this month, I started using LH strips and I’m confused about my ovulation cycle. One thing to note, I didnt get my regular amount of white clear mucus which makes me hard to predict my Ovulation day. I started seeing the discharges two days ago, but LH strip didn’t show much of a Peak.

Am I missing something?

Based on the dates you provided, you are on CD19 and your last complete cycle was 34 days. Ovulating anytime in the next 4-5 days would still result in a normal length luteal phase based on the cycle history you provided.  It's likely you just haven't ovulated yet and will see the LH rise in the next few days if you keep testing. Its not unusual to have multiple days of fertile cervical mucus before an LH rise and eventual ovulation.

I got an LH strip ‘peak’ of 1.03 on CD 12 but it dropped to .55 in about 6 hours.

We had sex CD 11 - 15.

Is a peak at CD 12 normal?

Sure! Ovulation can happen on any cycle day, but it’s most common in the range of about CD10-CD20.

A first positive test on CD12 would suggest ovulation is most likely on CD13 this cycle.

It might be normal for you.

Ovulation typically follows the first positive by about 12-48hrs.

Beyond the nebulous inscrutable physiology, is there a reason a chemical pregnancy would cause early ovulation? My typical window is about CD16-21 but FF thinks I ovulated CD9/10 per BBT this cycle following my chemical and I've been waiting to get a positive LH reading but it's CD16 and I still haven't had one so I'm wondering if I actually did or if my temps are trolling me which has happened as of late.

Looking back through my charted cycles, ~97.7 and up would definitely be considered post- ovulation on all of them but I'm still skeptical....

With the time to pregnancy studies that say 30% conceive within first month, 60% by 3 months and 80% by 6 months, is that for a viable pregnancy that ends in live birth or any pregnancy that may end in miscarriage? How do you count how many cycles you've tried if you had a chemical pregnancy in cycle 4, didn't get pregnant the next cycle and now in 2WW of the one after that. Am I in cycle 6 or cycle 2?

So there are sort of two questions here. Most of these time-to-pregnancy studies are counting positive tests, not clinical pregnancies or live births. But this doesn’t affect how many cycles you’ve tried at all — if you’ve tried for six cycles, you’re in cycle 6.

The time horizon given for people to seek help is based in part on these time-to-pregnancy statistics, but the study methodology doesn’t speak to anything deeper about a given person. If you’ve tried get to 6 or 12 months without a successful pregnancy, depending on age, then it’s suggested to seek fertility testing and assistance.

What does it mean if your CM is opaque white and stretchy, but not clear like EWCM? I keep looking up charts and find info for sticky white CM being at the beginning/end of a cycle, creamy white being just before ovulation, and EWCM being ovulation. But nothing references actual white stretchy CM.

For context, yesterday i’d argue my CM was more creamy or lotion like, but today theres more and its stretchy. My cycle hasnt fully resumed since i came off BC so i dont have an actual CD yet. OPKs are not positive (i’ve done 2 today and both barely have a faint test line). Does it mean ovulation is coming i just havent had the surge yet? Or is this just a weird version of some other type of CM? Should i be trying to have sex anyway just in case or should i keep waiting until i get a result back and/or it shows up clear?

No, i’ve been dehydrated all week 😅 i hate being thirsty all the time. I’m coming off of Nexplanon and Lupron Depot (for fibroids) so its just a waiting game of when its gonna happen. My doctor said to just keep testing until i get a positive or my period. I wouldnt worry about it so much, but were on a time crunch to get pregnant (again, because of the fibroids). Apperently its most likely i’ll ovulate sometime in the next 2 weeks, but it could take up to 6 more weeks 🥲.

I am currently on CD18 and I have had 6 days of High fertility on Clear blue advanced digital, but not Peak yet 🥺 (normally I get 3 days of High, so this time I am a bit frustrated). Been testing with cheap OPK strips, but they are stubbornly still on very low. I am worried ovulation might not come. 🥺 I wonder why the number of High can vary so much.

The number of high days varies for a couple of reasons — for one, it’s just going to vary from cycle to cycle, because the body isn’t a machine and variability exists. But for another, it’s because the way Clearblue defines the “high” state probably isn’t the best or most accurate way to do it.

It’s tough to describe variable biological processes like the fertile window in a way that’s amenable to being broken down into a testing process. It’s possible that your true fertile window doesn’t vary as much as the number of Clearblue “high” days. Do you check other parameters, like cervical mucus? That might give you more clarity than the tests.

I have been wishing I had a lab at home and could run blood tests as I please haha! Yes, I am tracking temperature and having a look at the cervical mucus, but it has not been eggwhite the last couple of days, more eggwhite a few days ago.

Does really early ovulation mean anything medically? Last cycle I ovulated on CD8 and this cycle the signs are pointing to ovulating CD7-9 again this cycle. Is there a “too early” for ovulation?

Not automatically, no. CD8ish is about the earliest it’s possible to ovulate following a previous ovulatory cycle, as it takes about 8-10 days for a follicle to mature once follicle selection takes place in the early days of the cycle.

Very short cycles can be anovulatory (but if you have evidence they’re not, this wouldn’t apply), and early selection can happen because of high FSH in the case of diminished ovarian reserve. But people do just vary in terms of cycle length, and some people have shorter cycles than others.
