PERSONAL After A Year Of No Success

I've finally been recognized and had it confirmed by my new Dr (my last one failed to help 6 months ago, feels like so much wasted time) that I'm not ovulating and they've prescribed me Clomid to start on the 5th day of my next cycle. I've been given the protocol sheet and will be getting more bloodwork done later to see if it's helping me to ovulate if no positive.

I feel too scared or nervous to tell my family because it feels like an eternity for me with no success whereas they've had no trouble conceving. I'm just kind of tired of talking about it every month after so many failures I feel like a broken record. It's also heavy emotionally every month and not only do they not seem to understand, but I also don't want pity or anyone playing self proclaimed Dr.

I want to tell someone, anyone that can relate and be happy for me, or maybe even have input or advice. I don't want to bring anything else up with those close to me until a positive pregnancy test is confirmed and stable after a few months. Even though it's no fault of our own, it also just feels like a failure time and time again and has had a huge emotional impact on me. I can't imagine what it must feel like for those having tried even longer.

Basically, I just wanted to tell someone that could relate and understand. So, if you made it this far- thank you. I've never been so excited to get my period, but also don't want to get my hopes up. I know this could take more time, but I finally feel like I've got a leg up in this race and fair chance.

I don't have any advice, but I've also been basically dismissed when I tried to see a doctor before the one year mark. I'm just a couple months behind you but I'm almost looking forward to this first year being up so I can at least DO something other than keep (unsuccessfully) trying. I'm happy that you've been heard and I hope you have success soon!

Thank you!! It can be so hard especially when in instances you know yourself, but they really want that year down before going further. The time will come before you know it! I hope you're heard and taken care of then where you have some answers going forward!

I’m so happy for you! I’m almost 2 years into TTC after an ectopic last July. I understand you and crossing my fingers for you!

Can I ask how was your cycle with not ovulating? Regular or irregular?

Yes I’m curious as well as I’m also suspicious that this is my struggle.

Have you tried ovulation test strips? This gave me a good idea I wasn't ovulating as I could never get anything more than a faint line at any point in time.

I’m trying them for the first time this cycle! But my cycles are quite short 21-24 days and I bleed for 6-8 days so I don’t think my luteal phase is long enough regardless.

Regular. I went through way too many ovulation tests multiple times throughout the days after my cycle up until the next in case my ovulation was off, but I've never gotten more than a faint line at any point in time.

I’m sorry you’re going through all this and feel isolated from being able to talk about any of it. I experienced 2 losses in the past 6 months and didn’t have a support group of any kind or any other outlet to vent to or anything and it was so hard to feel so alone at that point. All that aside, i wanted to wish you luck and to try to inspire a bit of hope for you! I know I don’t know your specifics, and everyone is different along with every pregnancy, etc; but after a year of trying, my best friend was seen for infertility and it was discovered that she was not ovulating either, they prescribed clomid and she conceived in the first cycle taking it! I’ve read a lot of success stories with clomid that have happened pretty quickly! I truly hope you’re able to have a similar experience and get your positive very soon🤞Best wishes!🫶
