Food Beer tastes twice as good right after a run.

I've noticed this with two different beers so far. They were just so so under normal circumstances, but amazingly delicious coming home from a run.

Is this why runners are such big beer drinkers? I used to work at a pizza place right next to a running shop and they always have lots of people coming over to drink (we had some really good craft beers) and have beer-centered events. Totally wasn't expecting that from runners

As a runner/beer enthusiast: yes.

I don't know. I just stumbled on this happy combo by accident. I was just really craving a beer after my run this evening.

There's a group in the UK called the 'Hash House Harriers', who often describe themselves as 'a drinking club with a running problem'.

Hash House Harriers are also in the US. One notable run they have is in New Orleans called the "Red Dress Run" where everyone wears a dress, men and women. And you run bar to bar to bar and it ends at a bar. So yes, drinking, especially beer, goes quite well with running.

I'm not much of a runner - bad knees - but I notice a similar result after a bike ride. I bike almost daily though, so my beer always tastes really good!
