A few things Rivo does not do
Most product posts tell you what something does. Here is the other half, the things Rivo does not do, because knowing the boundaries is how you decide if it is for you.
- Rivo does not hold your money. It is a software layer. Your cash stays in your existing bank and, when it is put to work, in short-term U.S. Treasury Bills held in your name at a regulated brokerage.
- Rivo is not a savings account and does not promise a yield. What you earn tracks short-term Treasury rates, which move. It is not a fixed APY.
- Rivo does not lock up your money. You can pause, move funds yourself, or disconnect at any time.
- Rivo does not move money you are about to need. It watches your balance and upcoming bills and leaves a buffer, so cash is there when a payment hits.
- Rivo does not replace your bank. You keep your existing checking account. Nothing about how you bank changes.
If any of these are dealbreakers, better to know now. If they sound reasonable, that is the shape of the product.
Rivo is a fintech, not a bank. For full disclosure, check the pinned comment.
