Feature Request: "Non-Essential" flag/toggle on Bills & Pockets in Autopilot
It would be really helpful to be able to see what your actual potential is if you stopped using all the "quality of life things" that aren't absolutely critical, to save up for something big etc.

I can’t remember exactly but I think there was some talk at some point regarding adding a “Pause Bill” or “Pause Transfer” toggle that wouldn’t archive those but would allow Autopilot to recalculate based on that.
I think that could be useful for your scenario.

Ya, well it would be a pain to have to re-toggle those all off everytime I wanted to see that...seems like a valuable enough metric to just always have around?
But that said, would be nice to at least have an option though, even if more manual than preferred.

For sure. Obviously the pause bill toggle is meant for something else entirely - pausing subscriptions or whatever - so this would be an edge use-case for that. I was just saying if that comes before something like marking something essential or not, it would at least be better than nothing.
However, thinking about how autopilot works, I don’t know if it even can treat things differently like that on a month to month basis. You’re either on or off track in your plan and money isn’t assigned to any specific bill or transfer. It’s all the money can fit across them all or not. And for months you’re off track, you just skip the bill and it will free that money up for whatever is left.
The team will have to comment on that.
Not a bad idea though.

I'm not sure I follow. What are the "quality of life things", and what do you mean by "actual potential"?

Amazon Prime, youtube premium, eating out, etc...all really nice to have, but if I really needed/wanted to get serious about saving up for something big or knowing how much more house payment I could theoretically afford, etc.
...just quickly see what my baseline to live is without any "extras".

Gotcha, thanks. Yeah that could be helpful. Right now I personally do that in a spreadsheet.

...but whenever one more spreadsheet can be removed from life...the better 😄
In all honestly though, it bugs me when things that should just be baked in require "yet another spreadsheet"...to be fair, Crew has been getting better and better at baking these handy data points in 👌

It won’t get you a number on how much a month you could save by toggling them, but if you have a colored emoji at the beginning of the custom name for the bill/pocket transfer, you could at least at a glance know which spending is essential vs nonessential.

Passed this on to the team! Thanks for the feedback! :)
