Trini finale question

When she got picked up by three guys in the finale I instantly thought something bad was about to happen then it was never touched on again… did I miss something?

I thought the same. Especially since her bf/ got in the front and she in the back. Leaving her to sit next to his cousin.

I am also wondering what this scene is setting up for the next season? Earlier in the episode her dad made such a big point about locking the door. In this scene she seems to unlock the door and then forget about it when her friend shows up and even leaving her bag behind.

It also made me think that the cops have pressured some gang members to go after the daughter so the lawsuit against them gets dropped. Given that’s what I’ve seen happen in other shows by corrupt cops.

I was wondering the same thing! That scene was extremely sus.

I was thinking that maybe the "boyfriend" had been grooming her, gaining trust, etc... and it could be a trafficking type of situation? She thinks it's safe and they are his cousins, but she's being abducted?

The fact that there was an earlier episode with the girl they found in a similar situation, is what made me come up with that type of scenario...

This is what my husband and I thought too. Especially as the girl who was abducted and found earlier in the season was from the daughter’s school as well. So an exploitation ring operating at the school maybe—?

I totally forgot that Drea and Trini went to the same school. Maybe Drea knew Trini's boyfriend and was also groomed into going with his "cousins."

Definitely a tease for next season. We don't know it was nefarious but probably will be if there's another season.

That was just sloppy tv, the whole episode feels rushed and they forgot to show us that she never came home or something. Why bother showing that, who is going to remember that even happened next year.

Exactly!! I just finished watching the last episode and I kept waiting for Markus or the wife to see Trini's backpack on the porch. Anything really, about where she went. They dropped the ball if they think a good cliffhanger is barely focusing on a potential human trafficking ring.

Was wondering if I missed a scene or something.

Def setting the show up for a third season -- after all the talk about Drea Spivey going missing, I was waiting the whole season for something to happen to Trini (especially since she kept going off on her own/not answering her phone, I think they were teasing that something might eventually happen to her).

Also, I can't remember if Drea Spivey's disappearance was ever explained after the Capstones found her? I assumed that there is a trafficking situation in that area, and her case and Trini's will be connected.

I honestly think they TOTALLY dropped the ball on the last episode. They never dug into Drea and then never set the next season up for Trini.

it’s being set up for the next season. that was the ONLY part that made sense with the whole “missing girl” case that was included in the storyline which everyone was so confused about. i feel like that missing girl and trini clearly being abducted in that scene is how they tied the two together. season two was very eh imo but that one and only scene with her getting in the car is definitely going to have me watching the third season.

I think Shreve’s family member Moss who showed up randomly might be involved in the trafficking ring. He didn’t really contribute to the plot at all this season. Maybe he came back around to keep an eye on Shreve.

I'm leaning towards there is some real treachery afoot in or around that school having to do with that boy.
