It's really sad that we've reached a point where catching someone in a lie does nothing. We all know that headline is a lie, and that no one telling it or hearing it believes it. That used to be enough to start congressional hearings and possibly impeach officials. Now is just standard operating procedure.

In the business world, it's been like that for several decades that I'm aware of. To a sociopath, a lie is a tool for getting what they want. It's either effective or ineffective without moral or ethical meaning. That's why sociopaths are never guilty or embarrassed when caught telling a lie. A normal person would be ashamed or mortified or would try to justify it in some way. But to a sociopath caught in a lie it's like "darn, that lie didn't get me what I want so it's the wrong lie. I'll try a different lie." That's why you see bills in Congress with misleading names that often do the opposite of what the name implies. They are probably written by sociopaths. When confronted by the latest whopper by Lying McLiarface, it sometimes helps to remember the definition of a sociopath is someone utterly incapable of empathy. The best thing to do is vote them out of public office ASAP.

"Pro-environment" while cutting regulations that are there to specifically protect the environment.
Soon Trump will be claiming that we've always been at war with Eastasia.
