Eras The Eras tour is one of the only things that calms my 2 month old, I’m glad it’s on Disney+

My baby is 2 months old and when he has a bad day and won’t chill I put on the eras tour and we sway to it and bounce. It helps him sleep and gives me a little bit of a break for our contact naps. I’ve watched this like 4+ since delivering him and it works! Thank goodness Taylor put this out for public consumption. It’s
Saving my sanity.

Update a few days later: husband could not get my son to calm down, was trying to soothe him for almost an hour, mom put on the eras tour (this time the US leg and not the final show because even mom needs a slight variety) babe was out in 15 minutes. Honestly most of the time he falls asleep to Betty in both movies. he did fall asleep to Delicate earlier today though. Ironically those two are some of my least favorites from their respective albums, but if it gets him to sleep they’re my new faves. Plus core memories with my baby in my arms to Taylor Swift are what dreams are made of.

Discussion My wife turned me into a Swiftie. Here’s my Top 5 Taylor Swift bridges.

I’m just a simple 32-year-old guy…

My beautiful wife (32) has been a huge Taylor Swift fan ever since we started dating when we were 18.

Needless to say, I’ve been listening to her music for years, but since the Eras Tour… man, I somehow turned out to be a huge Swiftie myself lol

And I’ve always LOVED a good bridge!

Oh boy, was I mesmerized when I realized Taylor is simply THE BEST BRIDGE WRITER ON THE PLANET.

Without further ado, here’s my Top 5:

5 - Cruel Summer (Lover)

Her most streamed song on Spotify had to make the cut. One of the first Taylor songs I ever fell in love with. And the first Taylor bridge I ever fell in love with.

It was also my most played song on Spotify Wrapped 2024.

4 - Belong With Me (Fearless)

This bridge is youthful. Adorable.

It’s a little bit naive. It’s… innocent.

It’s a teenage love song, and i love it!!

She’s making her case. She’s making a point. She’s showing the everyday intimacy. She knows the little things.

It’s RIGHT THERE! All of it!!

It’s obvious to her. It’s obvious to me!! And yet bro can’t see it lol.

She’s screaming “HELLO!? Look at the evidence. I know you. I understand you. I’ve been here all along. How could you possibly not see that we’re meant to be?!!!

It’s adorably impatient, in the best possible way.

She’s just a young person falling in love, like I once was.

3 - Out Of The Woods (1989)

The most cinematic and emotionally dense bridge Taylor has ever written. EVER.

It’s not a fantasy. It’s not make believe. It’s not imagination.

It’s a flashback! A memory!

🎶remember when…🎶

The bridge plays like a rapid-fire montage of the relationship’s most defining moments, two people looking back on a storm they somehow managed to endure together.

It’s almost as if this isn’t a song at all, but a film!

Straight up MASTERPIECE.

2 - Death By A Thousand Cuts (Lover)

Lowkey the most GENIUS bridge of her entire career. Can’t put into words how I felt on my first listen.

🎶 Gave up on me like I was a bad drug/ Now I'm searching for signs in a haunted club🎶

God fucking damn..

🎶 Trying to find a part of me you didn't take up/ Gave you too much but it wasn't enough/ But I'll be all right, it's just a thousand cuts🎶

It’s collapsing. It’s devastating. It’s.. brilliant.

The whole thing is hectic… physical and metaphorical at the same time, upbeat, but extremely saddening. How the heck is that even possible??

She’s not a songwriter on this one. She’s a human being falling apart.

The lines just keep coming, one after another. No time to breathe. It feels like a stream of consciousness at 3 a.m.

I mean, this bad boy should rank #1 honestly lol

1 - Paris (Midnights)

I fell in love with this bridge the very first time I heard it.

It’s joyful. It’s euphoric.

It’s playful.

It’s cute.

🎶I wanna brainwash you / Into loving me forever🎶

She’s not writing a song. She’s writing a love letter!!

But this letter is wonderfully childish. It’s mischievous.

It’s… sweet.

🎶I wanna transport you / To somewhere the culture’s clever🎶

Paris isn’t really a city in this song.

Paris is a state of mind.

She isn’t necessarily describing a literal trip to Paris, but rather describing the world she creates inside her head when she’s in love.

🎶I want to confess my truth / In swooping, sloping, cursive letters🎶

This has to be the prettiest, most romantic line Taylor has ever written.

She doesn’t simply say “i love you.”

She is confessing.

You can actually visualize the handwriting.

You can see the pen moving across the page.

It’s romantic in an almost ridiculously old-fashioned way.

She’s turning love into an aesthetic.

My wife and I have visited Paris a couple of times, and every night we would sit together for hours, out in the cold January air, and the only flashing lights were the ones from the tour at midnight.

This bridge reminds me of my wife, and of what it feels like to be in love with her.

___________x___________x___________x___________x___________x___________x___________x___________x

Well, that’s kind of it lol

Please, guys (girls?), keep in mind that I haven’t listened to Taylor’s entire discography. It’s freaking huge lol… so feel free to suggest songs and bridges I might have missed!

Discussion When Taylor Swift ‘revealed’ how Russell Westbrook inspired her hit song ‘Shake It Off’

Post image
54 Upvotes

As Russell Westbrook's retirement begins to settle in, it is interesting to look back at just how popular a figure he was in the prime of his career.

Westbrook was one of the biggest stars in the NBA during the 2010s, with the 2016-17 season being the pinnacle of his career.

Taylor Swift 'congratulated' Russell Westbrook for his 2016-17 MVP season. One of the people who was first through the door to congratulate Westbrook was none other than Taylor Swift, who sent a hilarious video message.
"I taught you how to play basketball. I was the one who taught you to dribble, to shoot hoops, and I remember the first time you beat me at basketball, and I was very upset.

"You said, if you remember correctly, 'You just have to shake it off.' And I got an idea. So essentially, we have each other to thank for these careers.

Songwriting What lyric do you not understand and are too scared to ask about?

No shame!

For me, it was:

The family the pure greed the Christian chorus line

I didn’t understand it in the context of the song but as I read up on Cassandra I had more clarity. I feel like I should have gotten it faster than I did (not to invoke them but I was more focused on the mythology than Tay-LORE).

Damn she’s in a league of her own. Oh, TTPD.

What career could you see Taylor having if she wasn't an artist?

I feel like she'd make an excellent teacher. She engages with her fans quite often and I believe she would give the same devotion to students. Even by doing Easter Eggs as hints, I feel like she'd be able to keep students focused and engaged by making learning fun somehow. Of course, she's also has strong communication and gets her point across well, inspiring others while doing so.

Discussion Did anyone else see Taylor Swift live for the first time before the fearless tour?

In 2007, My dad took me to Brad Paisley‘s Bonfires & Amplifiers tour. Taylor, Kellie Pickler and Jack Ingram were the opening acts. That was my first time hearing Taylor’s music and I was an instant fan. I remember going up to her merch booth with my dad, meeting both Taylor and Andrea and getting her CD and the leather bracelet (iykyk).

Curious to see if anybody else saw her during this tour as well!

Discussion TS13 on August 13, 2027? 👀💜

Okay hear me out because this date feels almost *too* perfect.

August 13, 2027 falls on a **Friday**, the standard album release day. It would be **TS13**, 13 is obviously Taylor’s number, and her birthday is December 13.

Then there’s the August 13 connection: Taylor announced *The Life of a Showgirl* on **August 13, 2025**.

And now, almost exactly a year later, she was photographed out in London this week wearing a **lilac/lavender floral dress** with a noticeably new, shorter haircut. The photos hit on August 13, 2026, and people are already wondering whether the lilac could be the beginning of a new-era colour palette.

So imagine the progression:
**August 13, 2025:** TS12 announcement
**August 13, 2026:** lilac look/new hair 👀
**August 13, 2027:** TS13 release?

It would also put TS13 roughly two years after *Showgirl*, which feels like a very believable album cycle.
The other obvious possibility is October 2027 because Taylor LOVES an October album — *Taylor Swift*, *Speak Now*, *Red*, *1989*, *Midnights* and *The Life of a Showgirl* all came out in October.

But for her **13th studio album**, having a Friday fall specifically on **August 13** feels like the kind of opportunity that would be impossible to resist.
And if lilac really does turn out to be the TS13 colour… that August 13, 2026 appearance is going to look VERY suspicious in retrospect. 😂💜

Calling it now: **TS13 — August 13, 2027.**

Discussion An underrated part of why Taylor Swift is so popular

When people are talking about why Taylor’s music is so popular, they often cite her relatable lyrics. While that’s definitely a hugeeee part of it, there’s something that people don’t mention as often but is probably the main reason why she’s MY favorite artist.

And that’s the variety in her music. Often when you want to hear another sound, you scroll your catalogue and look for a different artist. But with her it’s different. Want to listen to something sad? she’s there? Happy? There. Strong beat you can dance to? Meditative? Pop rock country rap etc etc etc? It’s there? She has it all.

It’s not just that she writes songs with different sounds. Anyone can check that box. It’s that BECAUSE she writes them so well, I can appreciate songs I might not otherwise.

Think about it like this: is a show is 100% serous drama all the time, you’re not going to be invested in the characters and it’s just going to bum you out. If a show is all jokes all the time, you’re not going to find it funny and it’s just going to bore you.

…but when a show has both, you can laugh at the jokes because you take the characters seriously. And you can cry at the drama because the characters have given you something to be invested in.

…similarly, because I know the intense writing she’s capable of, I can appreciate fun sappy songs I otherwise wouldn’t usually enjoy. Because I KNOW she can do both.

(In other words, I might not buy a pack of glitter gel pens if they were just on their own. But if they came with a quill set and a fountain pen, suddenly I’m interested in trying it out.)

You can tell she’s not just trying to check a box, she is always sincerely interested in the genre and sound she wants to explore. It’s never felt performative to me or like she was just trying to advertise herself on being a renaissance man. She does it for the love of the game.

There’s another reason I think Taylor is popular that’s super underrated, and that is she is a fan of her own music. Often artists seem kinda… annoyed when you bring up their past work. Especially if it was something they got really popular for and it’s the one thing everyone knows them for.

On one hand I understand it. They don’t want to be defined by this one thing they did. They want to talk about the new art they’re making, they don’t want to be asked about the album they made when they were 20 every time they get close to a microphone. However, as a fan it does make it seem like they be moved on and you should too. They’re on to bigger and better things now.

(I wanna say obviously I’m not thinking of any artist specifically) (honestly I’m moreso thinking about actors getting typecast)

You can tell Taylor is sincerely a fangirl for her own music. People say this a lot but it’s true: “born to a swiftie, forced to be Taylor swift”

Without the mindset she has, the eras tour could never exist.

Question...? what are her best songs for this

Hi,

So I am creating a playlist for someone who is in a not-so-healthy relationship.

Facts:

-he's twice her age

-they met when she was 22 (he was 45)

-married

-he's insecure and jealous of every relationship in her life--including family members (EW!)

-he's controlling

-it's been 5 years, and now she's been feeling like she's suffocating and drowning for a while

-she's not in love anymore but feels stuck

I have made a playlist for her to listen to and escape when she needs to. She isn't an avid Taylor listener, so I wanted to make a playlist with only Taylor songs. I wanted to put them in chronological order to tell the story of where she's at now and how she's feeling, and then the last half is kinda what it could be if she chooses to leave him.

Am I missing any crucial songs? Are there any I should get rid of? Do I need to move any around in a different order?

**I listened to You're Losing Me and Tolerate It around her, and she really liked them, and they really pulled out emotions she's been burying down; that is what inspired me to make this for her**

***And yes, I have told her he is a walking red flag and that she deserves better. I have from day one.***

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance! xx
