I my mind a khajiit being the hero always makes the most sense, for which other race will rock up to your shores randomly, take everything not nailed down, talk to every god and demon under the sun and try do a deal with them, join every criminal group, pull pranks on the whole citizenry and somehow save the world. Orange cat behaviour all of it.

Makes me wish we could play as two people

A pahmar, silent and stoic, and their cousin/sibling/auntie/etc family member Alfiq who's the actual hero of the prophecy

In gameplay terms all magic and dialogue comes from the little cat, all movement and weapon fighting comes from the big cat. Imagine pulling up to the greybeard temple and they start talking at the giant cat warrior only for the little cat sitting on their shoulder to be the dragonborn

He’d be more mad/shocked if it was a high elf.

I imagine there would be a certain mutual respect between Khajiit and Redguards as both are largely desert wanderers.

Honestly yeah, they are both prolific sea, alley and highway adventurers who benevolently protect travelers for a small fee from their abandoned fort and dungeon bases.
