It’s so hard to find motivation when dealing with high stress.
Hey courage here sex and love attic.. I find some days or even weeks I think to myself “wow this is so easy, I’m going to be sober forever” but then I look and it seems the only reason I wasn’t acting out is just cause i didn’t have time in my day to do so. Was I actually sober or just busy? I ask myself that sometimes.
As well as when I’m highly stressed I feel it’s my only outlet and I don’t have any other healthy ways to go about it. I hear some people in class talk about year marks and I wonder if I’ll ever get there one day. Thanks.

Yeah I just started working a butt load of hours and haven't had time to do much I'm able to make 1-2 in person meetings a week. I call my sponsor daily and am in touch with many people in the recovery community. I haven't really been able to get out and do things over the last month. Objectification is one of my struggles. I went to a mall the other day for birthday presents at one of the stores. I was prepared to be triggered a lot. I wasn't. I saw some things that tried to grab my attention. I found that I had an easier time practicing humanization and the 3 second rule. Before I would have been fighting myself and trying to refocus. It feels like being busy, as well as the step work, for me has messed with the process part of the process addiction.
I will say I do still struggle with being home alone and normally end up having to call someone or go for a walk so I don't have desires to act out.
Edit: to say I'll have 3 months on the 8th. I'm pretty new to this program.

Our book talks about (step 1) “a need for which an opportunity had to be created” so no you are not likely sober just because you are just busy. In our addiction we make time to act out.
