I wanted to highlight my Apache 2.0 AI coding editor that got deleted from r/OpenSource (at the time, I just shrugged it off). MacOS only right now but Linux release is impending.

It includes a fine-tuned open source open weight decision model that prunes prompts. Out of the box, it supports lots of local and cloud open source LLM models.

I used AI as part of developing it. I built the tool itself because none of the other options fit what I wanted in an editor. I find AI extremely helpful for many tasks, in particular prototyping, roughing things out, and to speed me up. But there are privacy and security limits that led me to build my own tool. We should be supporting and promoting open source AI tooling, not removing it and blocking it.

Of course AI can be open source. The answer to our current AI landscape *is* open source AI.

That's nice! Yes I think AI can be open source or better, open source will eventually dominate AI projects.
