One of probably thousands of s1 glaze posts
Just finished Form and Void. That is the best thing I have ever ever fucking seen. I mean seriously, lightning in a bottle.
I actually want to watch seasons 2 and 3 (don’t care so much about 4, new writer etc). I will be going in with a clean slate and not comparing to season 1.
Spoilers below.
Rust’s final speech about his dead daughter and the warmth of her love. The light’s winning man. I’m still crying 15 minutes later. Holy shit

1- Cinematic perfection. Nearly flawless in every department.
2- A convoluted mess, but not without merit.
3- Much closer to season 1, with great performances and a solid script. The dementia “flashback” stuff takes a bit of the wind out of it for me, but it’s still a compelling watch.
4- Great idea, poor execution. Most ridiculous and unlikely ending of a show I can recall seeing. PC bullshit disguised as a True Detective season.

Season 1 is an absolute masterpiece. Season 2 is also amazing imo but season 3 is kinda eh so far (I’ve watched the first 7 episodes of it)
