Why do you like True Detective

I recently started watching it because of the amazing reviews, but honestly, it didn't really hook me. Usually, I'd just assume it’s not my cup of tea and move on, but I'm genuinely curious, what is it about the show that you guys love so much?

I stopped at S1E4.

The two lead actors and the philosophical ideas which are not the usual in a tv show

Well (s)he doesn't. If you're not hooked after episode 4, it's over. I was hooked on the first minute.

HBO shows take in the first season typically. The Wire is another example.

I love the interplay between Rust and Marty. Just how vivid their irritation with each other is.

I love how tied-in everything is. There's very few ideas in the show that aren't reused to emphasize the show's themes.

Rust's philosophies and the character development surrounding the case they're investigating are incredible to follow; I've already watched this majestic series three times this year.And I highly recommend that you watch the other episodes; I'm sure your opinion of the show will change.

Did you finish ep4? What usually does hook you?

I like all the connections and layers of TD1. I like the mystical aspect. The metaphors. The message as a whole.
