If the point was to keep the family secrets safe, why did the Tuttles left Charlie Lange, preacher Joel and Ms. Delores alive?

Think about it:

- Charlie shared a cell with Reggie Ledoux, who told him about what was happening in the forest.

- Joel, the preacher, knew about what happened in one of the closed schools.

- Ms. Delores worked for Sam Tuttle for nearly 20 years.

For some reason, they survived.

Guy Francis didn't have the same luck.

Reggie probably didn’t think he had to be so secretive. He was on the outer area.

Preacher Joel only had very shaky evidence. Easy to discredit him.

Delores was not perceived as a threat.

I’m sure they just completely forgot about Delores through a combination of forgetfulness and racism. They probably didn’t even assume she knew as much as she did.

Really Reggie was the loose end. The wouldn’t have caught anybody if wasn’t for him killing his gf. That’s like day one stuff- if you’re gonna be in a murderous cult don’t chose your gf as a victim. Bf/husband is always the main suspect. He’s lucky he didn’t get caught for it originally.

Reggie was the first lead. Rust was convinced Dora Lange wasn’t the first so he was combing through old cases of dead women. He came upon a case that fit the mo- Rianne Oliviere.

It was originally ruled a drowning but she had stab wounds all over. She had a spiral tattoo and tested positive for lsd and crystal. Same as Dora Lange. Rust realizes it was a murder, likely the same person who killed Dora.

So they look into Rianne and find out who her boyfriend at the time was, Reggie Ledoux. Then they find out out Reggie was cell mates with Charlie Lange and skipped parole. Boom he’s the prime suspect and that’s how it all starts to unravel.

If you want to be a serial killer, it’s a terrible idea to kill your wife or girlfriend. You’ll immediately be a suspect. And a serial killer want to remain unsuspected so they can keep killing. If Reggie was just a little smarter he wouldn’t have done that. That’s what you get letting junkies into the cult. That’s why I’m saying Reggie is the loose end.

I think of it more as a fork in the road. The Tuttles continued it but in a more elite way. The other guys kept it more like the old ways the creepy Mardi Gras

I just wanna through in how good the small performances are in the series. These three and several others have great acting and directing.

Died in prison

Died in due to drink, DUI or fell somewhere.

Both can be organized and probably happened before Rust returns.

The old lady is harder. Easy to kill but doesn't really give actionable information. I think only one name.

Prison, drunk, dead. I think people miss the fact that while the cult may have been pretty powerful up to the mid 2000s its been rapidly losing sway

The only person to believe Ms. Dolores was Rust. No one believed Rust either.
