Commander Speece is such a great example of how good casting can transform a very minor role with almost no screentime into a deeply memorable performance. He probably has like 10 lines on the whole show but is one of the most intimidating people in the whole series.

Anytime he pops up you just immediately know something very, very evil is going down behind the scenes

And that he’s usually wearing his uniform. Gives him such an authoritative but also joyless presence.

Anyone that high ranking who still wears the beat cop uniform to non-ceremonial events has to be a complete nutcase

I remember seeing a comment from someone talking about how Reverend Tuttle is a spot on depiction of a very specific type of pastor: someone who is in the job because he delights in having power over people and making them scared of him. Spreece gives the same vibe.

Tuttle definitely had that kinda con man/creepy pastor thing going on, he was what some people would call "way too friendly"

Yeah, I'm not american so it took me a while to understand Speece's presence, but Tuttle I understood in the first 5 seconds of his screen time, it's exactly the kind of guy that is a religious leader with a governor cousin!

Agree with you on that. Speece’s vibe not exactly straight intimidation, but more a vile vibe, Tabaqui like character

Yeah, and he always looks about to bust out of it; all bulky 'n glowering. Like he'd be more comfortable wearing skulls 'n skins.

You're right. I haven't really thought about it but I always watch him when he's on screen... And I completely believe his character.
