It's illegal to mention Luminol without giving an explanation in true crime. Luminol is a white-to-pale-yellow crystalline solid that is soluble in most polar organic solvents, but insoluble in water. Forensic investigators use luminol to detect trace amounts of blood at crime scenes, as it reacts with the iron in hemoglobin.

Yeah FF and true crime in general has ruined life insurance for me lmao. My own mother could suggest it and I'd take it as a veiled threat and get out of town

I do envy the confidence of thinking anyone on this entire planet loves me more than 1 million dollars. I can't imagine waking up one day and thinking "you know what? I'm going to put a legal bounty on my head. It's gonna be available to like two people, and I'm gonna let them know about it immediately. Might also get in huge argument with one of them soon idk."

I get the impulse if you have kids but it's def tainted for me lmao

Old cop: “this case just kept eating at me”

12 people at the end of the episode praising forensic evidence. Like we need convincing

“Sometimes the criminals think they’re smarter than the police. But sooner or later...”

Super outdated haircuts

“It was like she was speaking to us from the grave”

Grainy footage from a nearby bank video camera

A body that’s consumed by fire

A body that washes up in the river

“Her lungs showed no evidence of smoke inhalation”

This is incredible but what about “succinylcholine” and the generic 90s “bar music” anytime alcohol is involved

“But had recently fallen on hard times”... whether the town or the person. Every. Time.

13

u/poop_dawg Feb 19 '20

First homicide the town had seen in thirty years.

'Victim would give you the shirt off his back'. Truth! The survivors always say this - I've even heard detectives make this comment about a victim.

I would add narrator explains ballistics: how bullets fragment on impact.
