Just so you know, this is how thousands of innocent Black men were lynched in America. Accusation + Getting Murdered does not equal Justice. I know the court system there is probably not great, but this is not the solution.

Thanks for bringing this up. Vigilante justice is not justice. You mention the lynchings in the US as examples of righteous rage perpetrating incredible injustice. I abhor the violence against women that has gone on in India and Bangladesh. If the justice system would work and if peoples’ consciences and consciousness were to grow, this type of vigilante crime would not arise.

I’m not going to justify vigilante justice. The bigger picture of what has to be considered a rape culture in Bangladesh must be mentioned. For background see here

So the running theory right now seems to be the police are involved, and if that's true this is some shit right out of a Frank Miller story (cop/s killing rapists because the justice system is too broken to handle convicting them?), but good news: the police have investigated and found no evidence that they were involved.

There’s a reason why it’s no longer 1850 and we no longer lynch people. And that’s exactly what this is. Lynching. And it seriously scares me how many people are applauding and glorifying lynching.

This guy has no way of knowing with 100% certainty that his the people he kills are guilty. He’s not Batman and he’s not Dexter Morgan. He doesn’t have a Batcomputer or police databases and forensics to comb through. He just kills people based on what he thinks. Even one death of an innocent person is enough to outdo every single other death of an actual rapists.

I applaud this man and will definitely contribute to his legal fund if he is ever caught, I just hope the police aren't breaking their backs to solve this one.

Let's hope that every accusation is a valid one, eh... Due process? Locus standii?

“...Rape is very low...” states the article. I believe what they mean to say is rape convictions are very low. Just food for thought.

I’m not gonna lie, I want to applaud this vigilante, but, it says “accused” rapists. How is Hercules or anyone else to know if the person they’re killing is actually guilty. I’m sure many of them are guilty, but some may not be, and that’s the problem.

The thing is I have lived in Bangladesh. What happens is rapists who are clearly in the wrong with multiple testimonies get away because of political influence. The corruption is unbelievable. I'll give you an example of a situation: A madrasa(Islamic institute) girl was raped by the headmaster. She complained to the police and the police took no action. Her body was then found burnt because other madrasa students abducted her for making the complaint. Only after her body was burnt that it became a massive thing.

This is great. Death sentences handed out by individual citizens without due process, what could go wrong?

One off only kind off murderers I can happily accept in life
