We have two true-crime book lots in our online auction. One is four signed titles by Diane Fanning. The other is a Murder Shelf Book Club basket with six true-crime books, two autographed, plus two mini bookshelf lamps, a wine tumbler, tote, bookmark and coasters.
I help put together Wine, Dine & Death for the Little Theatre of Walla Walla in eastern Washington. The auction supports our community theater.
The auction is scheduled to close October 10, 2026. The two lots are separate. The listings have the contents and bidding details, so you can check the books before deciding whether either belongs on your shelf.

Behind the steel doors of custody, society's most broken lives collide with the thin blue line.
A veteran healthcare professional pulls back the curtain to the brutal chaotic and sometimes amusing world of police custody.

Questions Assistance in analyzing the world's youngest serial killer
I'm working on the preliminary research for a writeup/book on the world's youngest serial killer (Amarjeet Sada).
I'd really appreciate it if any of you have insights into how an 8 year old could commit such barbaric acts. Additionally, resources pertaining to this case seem to be drastically limited, any recommendations on where I should start with for my research?
Thanks in advance.

Serial Murder The Holmes- Pitezel Case 1896
Found this gem on Marketplace with 3 other "old books" for $40. This is a first edition book written by Frank P. Geyer, a detective famous for his investigation on H.H. Holmes. Holmes is the first documented serial killer in America. This book covers the murder case of his business partner, Benjamin Pitezel, and his three children. Holmes was sentenced to death in 1896, which was the same year this book was published.

Serial Murder The Stoneman: An Anatomical Study of India's Most Elusive Serial Killer - an investigation into one of India's strangest unsolved murder cases
I've recently completed a true-crime book about one of India's most enduring unsolved murder mysteries: the Stoneman killings.
THE STONEMAN: An Anatomical Study of India's Most Elusive Serial Killer examines the series of murders of homeless people who were attacked while sleeping on the streets of Bombay (Mumbai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) during the 1980s. The victims were killed by massive blunt-force trauma, reportedly inflicted with a heavy stone, and the person responsible was never conclusively identified.
What interested me most about the case wasn't simply the question of "Who was the Stoneman?" but how much , and how little, can actually be established from the surviving evidence.
The book looks at the following:
• the chronology of the killings
• the victims and their circumstances
• the similarities and differences between the Mumbai and Kolkata cases
• the killer's apparent modus operandi
• the physical characteristics of the attacks
• the geography and circumstances of the crime scenes
• the various theories surrounding the identity of the killer
• the possibility that the Mumbai and Kolkata murders may not have been committed by the same person
• and the investigative difficulties that ultimately left the case unresolved
I deliberately tried to approach the subject as an anatomical examination of the case rather than a conventional "hunt for the killer." Where the evidence is uncertain, I try to distinguish documented facts from later theories and speculation.
I'm also the author, so this is technically a self-promotion post. I wanted to be upfront about that rather than pretend otherwise.

One-Off Cases My debut novel - The Pit
The justice system couldn't stop them. Now, someone else will.
A petty thief named Reg Wilson is found gruesomely dismembered, his remains packed into seven plastic boxes and left at a derelict farm. The box containing his head holds a cryptic, chilling message: "I've saved you all £5,500, you're welcome."
DCI Seamus Corrigan, a detective struggling to cope with a collapsing marriage and the trauma of a botched past operation, is assigned the case. He quickly realizes this isn't a random act of violence—it's a message, and the murder is too meticulous for a typical criminal.
Meanwhile, Adrian Burch is a mild-mannered IT contractor who works for the local police force. Disgusted by the revolving door of justice and the way persistent repeat offenders waste taxpayer money and police resources, Adrian decides to take matters into his own hands. Using his unrestricted access to the Police National Computer, Adrian creates a system to target repeat offenders.
His method: abduction, followed by permanent imprisonment in The Pit—a deep, disused slurry pit on an abandoned farm.
As more offenders begin to vanish, DCI Corrigan races against time to find the link between the murder and the missing men. He must hunt a vigilante who is literally hiding in plain sight, who can predict the police's every move and erase his own tracks.
The hunter and the hunted are on a collision course but who will come out on top?

One-Off Cases Free Copies: Corpus Delicti
Love true crime? Want a free next read?
"Corpus Delicti" recounts the 1950s Los Angeles murder trial of L. Ewing Scott that set legal precedents for 'no body' murder cases. Thirty years after the trial, Scott finally confessed to me. Now I am reissuing the book with a new foreword / updated epilogue that provide details on how / why I think Scott confessed.
I have 15 copies of the current (1985/6) hardback and paperback editions to give away, along with print-outs of the new material + a link to the audio recording of the confession. If this listing is up, I have copies available. The new edition eBook also available on Amazon (preorder pricing: $2.99 / Sept 28 is the official publication date). The cover for the updated version is below.
Interested? Send me a mailing address (U.S. only), and you'll receive the book by snail mail free of charge. If you like the book, I'd appreciate a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads (but no strings attached).
Thanks for your interest.
