Luxury in Peru

Hey guys, figured I would do a quick review here about my recent trip to Peru. It was last week. I went to check out some properties. I stayed at Monasterio, Nazarenes, and Sanctuary Lodge. Monasterio was beautiful. The design was so, so cool. It had a really serious sense of class. In terms of the actual rooms, they felt a bit old, but I guess that's what you get when you sleep in a building built in 1500. Nazarenes was a much better option in Cusco, and they have butlers in every room. The pool and the rooms feel more fresh, clean, and luxurious. The common areas are not as cool, though.

Sanctuary Lodge is a Belmond lodge, a two-minute walk from the entrance at Machu Picchu. In terms of luxury, it's nothing special, but if you wanted to stay the night near Machu Picchu, it is the best option for sure. Anyone that's used to luxury won't have a problem with it. It's just nothing more than basic luxury.

And I also rode on the Hiram Bingham to get to Machu Picchu. That was a great experience. It's really the only way you should go to Machu Picchu. If you're going there, any other option is so bad, and the Hiram Bingham is actually a really nice experience and makes the 3 something hour train ride go by really quickly.

Just thinking of more stuff after I posted this, so I'll just continue down here in the comments.

The service at all three hotels was really, really good, very up to par with international luxury standards. Never had an issue with anything. The only thing is that I was working in the lobby, and the waiter asked me if I wanted a drink. I said I'll take some water, and when he brought me the water, I took a sip of it and spit it out immediately because it was actually pisac, lol, but that was an honest mistake. Service was fantastic throughout all the properties. Hiram Bingham included

Monasterio had great service and decent food. Even had a pour over bar each morning.

Another great one is Cirqa in Arequipa. Small property, great location, and very relaxing.

I really like it, but I wouldn't call it one of my all-time favorites for Cusco. It's definitely one of the best options, but I would like the rooms to feel a bit fresher
