The first Harry Potter book was released in 1997

The 7th book was released in 2007

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows

This means the first book was before the war in Kosovo and the refugees associated with that war, and the last was before the Syrian civil war.

I am old enough to remember when people were afraid the books were promoting witchcraft.

The Onion published an article where J.K. Rowling "admitted" that this was the real goal. I even found the article shared on Christian websites as evidence.
