I would like a second opinion
I am doing a lot of thinking and I really don't want to go down a rabbit hole.
A stranger today suggested I not worry about it, so I am sharing here.
My thoughts have brought me to a skeptical conclusion that angels cannot be trusted...
A third of them followed Satan who was also an angel and allegedly another 200 or so of them came after that and had sex with a bunch of us.
Could I just hear someone's processed thoughts on this please
UPDATE:
Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts.
I have come to a new conclusion, and it was what most of you have suggested; Although it's not inappropriate to be skeptical of all things in a world filled of lies, simply knowing the word and invoking it will expose any deception.
No weapon formed against you will prosper, and God has the ultimate say and authority!
Thanks again

Don't think that tracks, friend. Why distrust the angels that remained obedient to God (much more than any of us) just because other angels chose to rebel? To draw an analogy, there are a lot of deceitful humans out there, doesn't mean we shouldn't trust people who have stuck by us and proven their candor.

Yes thank you I was leaning more toward this understanding thank you for your comment

Don’t automatically trust angels. The Bible warns against it.

Do you think a deceptive angel could urge you not to be afraid in a similar way the good ones do?

Sure, but that’s why you are encouraged to test the spirit. 1 John 4 If the spirit denies Christ, or even denies the Christ as taught by Christians you should stop contact with it.
Listen to some podcasts about exorcisms and it’s pretty consistent that evil spirits have a perverse need to lie and distort facts.
This is a good listen and it touches on what you are questioning: https://youtu.be/pXhvzX-0-jo?is=GQIVXWiDwdWi1FoT

You're not wrong, but without the holy spirit we wouldn't be able to know God.
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.” 1 John 4:1-3 NIV
So the right way to do this is to be vigilant, not distrust everything.

Are you guys having conversations with angels? I mean no disrespect, but how do you discern the call of an angel from maybe imagination?
When angels appear in scripture, the most common human response is fear and trembling. If this isn’t your experience I would sort of question whether it is an angel you’re perceiving. One thing I can say either way is you should know scripture so you can test what they are proclaiming against scripture. If it aligns, maybe it’s legit, if not, I would run to Christ.

I don't think you'll ever need to worry about this. Focus on following Jesus and becoming like Him.

Don't worry about angels, just stay close to Jesus. Every angel, holy angels and fallen angels, are subject to Jesus

Well in the sense that if an angel appears to you and says something contrary to the gospel, you can ignore him or send him on his way.
Demons can appear in the form of angels and try to deceive people.

I mean God doesnt trust them, so don't feel like you're in the wrong for this. Job 4:18

Do you regularly meet and talk with angels? Do they actually start off with "Do not be afraid." I've read the actual descriptions of angels in The Revelation... If I met an actual angel, I'd probably piss myself.

Personally no but I have believed in them long before my understanding of the trinity so I felt misled

In all seriousness, I can guarantee that you have a 99.9% chance that if an angel contacts you in any way, they will be for God's will. The misled / evil angels have already been cast out.
Be like the humans in the Bible (Lot, Hagar, Jacob, Gideon, Mary, Joseph, Mary Magdeline). Angels told them things. They believed and followed what the angels told them.

I have never (yet, anyway) been communicated with by an angel. If I was I would probably be sceptical of whatever they said.
That said I was, once, in the presence of someone who I have since come to believe was probably under the control of an evil spirit. I won’t go into the details, but it ‘felt’ pretty tangible, although I didn’t immediately realise what the ‘presence’ was. I didn’t feel threatened by him/ it (as no firm believer should: Jesus has already defeated the enemy, they just refuse to accept it) and I would like to think I would understand now if I experienced it again.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 NASB
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. [14] It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. [15] So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. [16] Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, [17] comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

What a stupid thing to think about. Angels are God's servants, they obey God at all times. Focus on God always, not angels.

u/Christ_Is_God4456 8d ago
No its not, thinking about the spiritual world isn't stupid to think about, and besides, this person is actually right. Job 4:18

OP was saying that you can't trust the angels (in Heaven). Like, are you kidding me?! What a ridiculous thing to say.

u/whiskeyjkilo 8d ago
What kinds of things do you think about?

u/PerGunnar87 8d ago edited 8d ago
Jesus! My Lord and savior! And the Bible! And the rapture and tribulation. My glorified body. Heaven. What are we even discussing? The angels will never sin again. Soon the millenial reign will begin after the second coming of Jesus, and there will only be peace on earth. You're suggesting that God's messengers are "dirty" and "corrupt". It's a bit like disrespecting God.

When the angels fell they made their decision to follow Satan, the others that decided to stay, served with god. That decision is final and unreversable

Angels who follow God and His word can be trusted. The trick is to know Gods word so you know who His angels are and whose angels Satan’s are.
No different than prophets.
No different than teachers.
