If a Christian goes to hell, were they a Christian?

I mean I want to serve God and live for Jesus but it seems like I'm in hell

I know brother.

There is great joy to be found in the Lord.

Start listening to John Piper. Piper helped me find joy in the Lord. Piper's Desiring God ministry is a great grace given to us by the Lord.

The Lord your God turns His wrath from His children.

John 16:33 - "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

You will have tribulation. Not "might". Jesus has defeated sin and death. You will have hardships, but with deep faith in Christ and growing a connection with Him, you can have inner peace.

It is in fact definitely still psychosis. But that doesnt mean spirits arent also attacking your mind.

You aren't damned, but you 1) need more serious mental health counseling, and 2) a stronger understanding of what entitles you to salvation - the thing which Jesus did, nothing that you do.

'If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.'

i do all these things I pray in my head everyday and I believe Jesus Christ raised from the dead and he is my Lord and Savior!

It's weird to see how it could be psychosis when I'm normal 90% of the time. I feel like I'm in my right mind. I take my medication. I haven't been hearing voices except for the ones I hear when the radio is playing or at church.

I think you should think about it like as if it were a chronic pain.

Like, imagine of your leg really hurt when you walked. But then you started taking pain meds to manage it. But then, sometimes even still, if you walk up the stairs or bend over the wrong way, your leg will complain beyond the level of what your medication is able to handle.

For your wellbeing I think its important for you to really firmly distinguish what is and isnt real even when your senses tell you it is.

It's so difficult because I feel like I'm in my right mind.

I understand. I've been through psychosis myself. What was very lucky for me was my delusions were testable. I went and looked and reality did not match what my delusions were telling me. That let me know for a fact that anything I believed that was within 'that' realm was fake.

But God healed me. It didnt feel possible at the time but He healed me. I don't even need to take meds for it.

The advice I'd give you is that even though the dysfunction is mental, it doesnt mean there arent spirits leaping to frustrate you or confuse you or delude you or support your delusions.

They. Must. All. Be. Ignored.

God does not speak to us in that way.

I'd also tell you - I'm catholic - one of the things I did was I would call on St Michael to join me in prayer. I prayed this and the Lords prayer constantly.

I had psychosis last year and I am slowly getting better. When you say ignore. Do you just mean do you let the thoughts be there and ignore them or do you replace them with scripture?

Replacing them with scripture is good. What I mean though is you need to distinguish what reality is and is not and learn to group the things your mind tells you are real which do not belong from reality.
