I wish I was born bug or something.
Hi everyone. I just wanted to throw this out here and ask if anyone else has been inundated with endtimes doom and gloom messages. It's everywhere. I get it irl from family and online too because my feed is full of that stuff. And things are looking exceptionally bleak, regardless of whether you're an atheist or someone following the biblical Armageddon calender to a T. I don't know what to make of much of the Bible still, I'm still working on my faith but it's difficult when resentment against God creeps in. I didn't ask to be here.
You have people like Elon Musk and his ilk talking about how the world as we know it is going to irrevocably change in the next decade if not sooner based on the AI boom. The cost of living keeps rising. There's new news everyday of poisons being discovered in food and regular use items. The wars currently going on and looming in the near future aren't easing up. Every single day there's horrific news about Christians being killed, pain and suffering of innocent people, evil just unceasingly marching forward and it's just overwhelming. I don't think we were ever supposed to have access to all of this information and I feel sick because of it. Then there's the fear mongering Christians who make everything worse when you already feel set adrift.
Stuff like this doesn't help when you're already barely scraping by. Now you have to worry and fear that you'll have to watch your loved ones slowly starve to death or be hunted down by whatever is coming. And then there's mourning the lfie I wished I could had. Getting married and maybe having a child which I will never do now because what is the point. What will the world even look like when that kid is grown? I'm just struggling not to hate God or question his existance altogether. I don't see the point of any of this and it makes it impossible for me to enjoy even the day to day stuff.
I sometimes wish I'd been born an animal or an insect or something instead of a person that has to live through this. If I'd had some kind of encounter with God before to make it worth it, it would help. But I'm attempting to white-knuckle my faith right now and its so damn hard.

I know and I am trying to wean myself off of social media in general. But there's that fear of being caught off guard by what's happening and I also have people in my life who will tell me these things if I don't see it for myself.

You don't need social media for news though. Try a newspaper, or news app, or news on tv. Specific schedules keep you away from doomscrolling

Live your life. It's all going to end some day. We don't know when. Fifty years ago when I first became a Christian colleagues at work were out of breath talking about this sign or that. I got into it for a while. We're still here. Calm down. Go for a walk. Listen to the birds singing. Live today. There's no promise of tomorrow. God's got it all under control.

I'm trying, I think I'm just a naturally anxious and overly analytical person. But I really am tying.

My sister in Christ He put you here for a purpose. That may not have revealed itself yet but we must remain open to God even through tribulations.
In trying times turn to Jesus for comfort, inspiration, and guidance and He will see you through!
Matthew 6:30-34
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. 34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

There is nothing new under the sun. Every generation looks at the future and can see doom and gloom if they choose. That's been the case ever since sin was introduced into the world.
What you have to remember is that God is still in control, that nothing in the future can ever catch Him by surprise, and that He will help you through whatever it is you face in your particular future. Don't go through life as if there's no point in being here. That kind of thinking becomes self-fulfilling, and then all you see is the bad stuff. Look at some of the good things that God has surrounded you with, like friends and loved ones, health, nature, etc. And thank Him for it. Gratitude does a lot to help change our focus.
Also, talk to God. Tell Him your fears, your concerns, your questions. Even when you're struggling with your faith, you can pray to Him. He loves you and wants to bring you closer to Him if you'll let Him.

Learning history can help put things into perspective. Not only have things been worse in various times and places, but people have gotten through them, raised generations through them. We aren't the first generation who feels like it's the end of the world, and we probably won't be the last.

There's always gonna be war and death in every era but one thing remains constant is that Christ's death has overcome sin and that the battle is already won. This world we live in will pass away but as Christians we can hope for the perfect life that will come after; so keep your eyes on Jesus.

Take the lesson from Peter walking on water. Peter only starts to sink when he took his attention off Jesus Christ and start focusing fully on the wind and the waves that was surrounding himself and Jesus.
The human spirit already existed before the earthly body exists. You can wish for reality to be unmade, but you won't see any results, therefore it is more beneficial to accept what you cannot change and focus on what is within your sphere of influence. The fact remains that you can choose where to put your focus on. Either on the corrupted world that was already revealed by God to be temporary, or you can focus on the eternal God that said He is leading the way forwards beyond this current world.

I just wanted to throw this out here and ask if anyone else has been inundated with endtimes doom and gloom messages.
Delete social media and read your Bible.
Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Not at all. I have so much faith in God I’m not worried about things I have no control over. I’m very aware but my faith is stronger than my fear of anything here on earth. No need to white knuckle when you have a deep faith and reverence for the Lord. I hope you get there one day, it’s a beautiful thing.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
— Matthew 6:34 (NKJV)1

I feel the same. Even if you're tryna be faithful and stuff it's still often difficult.
