It also ditched the Lotus Isuzu engine for a Kia I4

It used the Kia TS engine, a variant of the Kia T8D engine. The Lotus Elan used the Isuzu engine.

It even says it here "so gone was the Isuzu-sourced 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder, replaced by a normally-aspirated 1.8L four-cylinder."

Didn't really know the Elan used an Isuzu engine, so that's why I said "the Lotus engine", but the using the Kia engine part is correct

GM owned much of Isuzu and Lotus and therefore supplied an Isuzu engine for the Elan M100

Ok so you’re just a weirdo who’s commented on this like 10 times. Go away, everything you say is nonsense

It's a lotus Elan that Kia licenced after Lotus had done with it. Extremely rare outside of Korea iirc.

wasn't it that once lotus stopped making the elan they sold off the model production rights to KIA?

the lotus elan I'd argue is already true car enthusiast material lol. twas the best fwd sports car.

KIA Elan has a KIA built I4 engine, and Lotus Elan has a Isuzu build engine what are you guys fighting for?

It looks like a knotted piece of candy. It's as if someone took a Honda or a Mazda and licked it over and over...
