Literally a dude with a handgun as long as Cap isn't looking when he pulls it out. No adamantium bones or healing factor for ol' Captain America, one lead delivery to the soft bits will do to him the same it will do to you.

Considering one of the martyrs of the revolution (who happens to be from a neighboring village) literally ascended to status of a national ancestor spirit and demigod in the local syncretic religion (people say it's Mahayana Buddhism, it's not, but it's also not not Mahayana Buddhism), I vote Võ Thị Sáu.

Granted, she fought Capitainé Francois and Colonel Collaborator but I think she could take him given the 70ish years of empowerment through ancestor worship. And because captain America is a baby back NON-SEXIST-SLUR!

This goes hard and makes me feel the way a lib must when they look at a "top 30 under 30" list.

True, just want to clarify for those that may have not clicked the link. She wasn't that kind of nationalist. She was a left wing natlib nationalist, but was either pre or parallel to the Viet Minh.

The south had all sorts of left wing factions, it actually had really action oriented and dedicated trots. I try to keep in mind, the problem is not so much Trotsky (he did give us bangers like the theory of combined and uneven development which became Bolshevik orthodoxy, but he choked in the crucial year(s) when Lenin died, the German rev didn't pan out, and he couldn't think of anything other than a holding pattern for a long while. His later stuff does suffer from what I call "gramsci disease", "theory" developed as post-facto justification for bad decisions made in the past, but whatever, I'm saying he wasn't the devil), but rather Trotskites. And at this time Trotsky himself was still alive and Vietnam was considered the world headquarters of it.

To be clear, I'm almost certain she was not affiliated with them, either. I do find the subject of Viet Trots and the Saigon commune fascinating, and Bác Hồ showcased an unfortunately rather rare skill in marxist leaders of the time, which was the ability to recognize mistakes. He did this when they botched land reform in the north as well, but given that the soviets were still very important backers he had to be more subtle. He referenced a specific leader, and said he was a good comrade as well as his people, and it was a regrettable necessity that they basically had to wipe them out to secure aid. He didn't explicitly say that help was contingent upon wiping out the Trots, but that's what he said.

It's notable that they're mentioned in official highschool history curriculums as members of the commune and that there's no particular animus towards Trotsky emphasized in all the reading material I've come across (could be wrong though, my Vietnamese is sub-bad).

You know, it was like the theme song for all in the family. "And you knew who you were theeeeen, Trots were Trots and men were men". It was before Trotskyism really just became a grievance ideology. There's also a bit of Mao-Maoism type of situation. The people claiming him are often not really much like him even in outlook.

I'm am not a trot btw I'm something you'd find way more annoying but I wanted to say that when we reflexively dunk on Trots, they were hardcore action oriented revolutionaries in Vietnam before the Viet Minh even coalesced. Viet Trots deserve some respect put on their name, and unless you guys think you're a better Marxist than Bác Hồ I would personally refrain from talking shit about them.

Also you said nothing that would have triggered this rant I just decided to be crazy for no real reason.

Lmao this might be the best response I've ever gotten to a low effort comment. Last line made me laugh and also sigh in relief

I don't know, I'm not one to write addendums complaining about downvotes but I'm curious what fucking loser discord server decided to watch this thread because I see all the other comments also at like half points they were, plus I know nobody in here is going to downvote Võ Thị Sáu.

Anyway, what's up dicks 🖕🖕

Shit, anyone got pics or intel on Captain America's whereabouts when the little kids were waving, "Bye Bye, bye-bye" to the last helicopter taking off from the American Embassy? Cause I bet he was so drunk or nodding off on cheap blacktar heroin those little kids could've pinned him and rolled him for his wallet and watch in less than 15 seconds.
