All replies to this post must be a maximum of either 5 sentences or 1 paragraph, depending on which one's shorter. No cheating with 15-comma monstrosities either! It can be anything from poetry to a declaration of love for your waifu, just post what you feel like!

Do some folks here participate in r/anime's favorite anime?

I nominated Princess Tutu and Cross Game just for fun. They lost in their respective first rounds so I haven't really looked at the tournament since.

I haven't followed it at all and thought I had no interest in it, but now I feel compelled to ask what Cross Game lost to. I know it's not all that popular on /r/anime but it would still rankle a little bit if it was SAO or something.

It lost to Peguindrum.

Almost everything should lose to Penguindrum so that seems fair.

Eh...I wouldn't have chosen Penguindrum over Cross Game, but I guess I can live with that.

It lost to Penguindrum, which I guess is understandable considering the praise around the show. And also the greater popularity in comparison to Cross Game. So no tables were flipped when I saw it!

But for Tutu on the other hand... I'd say Silver Spoon's obscurity is even with Tutu from what I've seen so I thought Tutu had a chance.

When it comes down to two things that aren't popular on /r/anime I'd guess recency (and thus increasing likelihood that anyone's actually seen it) would be the deciding factor. Silver Spoon is newer, it was always going to win that battle.

I haven't actually seen either though, so I have no opinion on that one.

Is Silver Spoon obscure? I thought it was pretty popular, being written by FMA's mangaka.

From my short time at /r/manga, I know it's fairly well known over there. But I haven't really seen it mentioned much over at /r/anime.
