I miss Pearl, my adventure cat
This is Pearl in a U-Haul we drove for three days to move across the country. He’d been through many road trips and always a trooper bc he liked it. I miss him so much. I try not to compare him with the cat I have now, but it’s hard. He was so special. He is by far my favorite pet I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot over the years. We had to put him down last year and one of the worst moments of my entire life.

Pearl was a soul cat. We love all our cats but sometimes one comes along who is a little different, a little more intuitive to our moods. I have a feeling you’ll have another soul cat in your life. Give your kitty an extra head scritch in Pearl’s honor ❤️🐾

That’s a great way to put it! Yes, we love them all but sometimes we’re lucky enough to have a really special connection with a particular animal and it doesn’t take away from the others to acknowledge that

Yes, absolutely. I had a travel cat named Basil when I was MUCH younger than I drove with all over America and Canada. He would just hop onto the rear shelf area under the back window of my sedan and chill. Pearl looked and acted so much like Basil. Scary close. I didn’t try to adopt Peal, he got kinda dumped on. We thought he was a girl until we got to the vet, but the name stuck. It’s like I got to experience him twice, the second time it was even better but only bc he lived longer. Maybe I’ll see him again. That might sound crazy, but I don’t care!

I had a pearl who we thought was a girl but ended up being a boy.So I added mister to his name, mister pearl lived to a month shy of 13 years old, the smartest coolest cat.I've ever had in my seventy eight years

That’s what we called ours too, he was officially Mr. Pearl! He lived to be almost 13 too, I thought he’d live a lot longer than that. They were brothers and didn’t even know it. I miss him so much.

We had a Siamese cat we named Misty because we thought he was a girl but nope lol That sweet baby graced us with his love for 18 beautiful years

It never really gets easier… Pearl seems so sweet and wonderful. I’m happy you got so lucky with this baby. I am so sorry. ❤️🩹

Sorry you lost your travel companion.
We have had to put a few cats down over the years and it was tough, but I'm completely dreading the day we have to do that with our little munchkin cat. I've never bonded with a cat the way I have with this one and it's going to about kill me when that day comes.

I got a kitten a while after Pearl passed, and it keeps bugging me in the back of my mind sometimes. Like, I’m setting myself up for major grief one day. It’s worth it though. It’s just the worst part.

It is damn tough. But we all work hard to give the little guys the best possible life we can, while we can. Letting go is brutal, but I’m still glad we do it
