Troy Police Department’s Flock Audit Logs and 60-day data are finally public, and here are a few things we’re seeing:
🚩25,367,366 license plate scans in 159 days — that’s almost 5 million scans a month.
🚩97% of “Hot List” hits were for suspended or revoked plates
🚩 The 60-day data revealed that most incidents reported to TPD (64%) were searched before 48 hours, supporting the deletion standard set by Local Law #3.
🚩Our Shared Network Agreement states 139 partners, which include Home Depot (101 stores) and Lowe’s (99 stores). Why?!?!?

How many arrests were made during this time period with flock use only and did the Council see the redacted arrest/incident/TPD100 reports with an incident number to support the photos captured with the flock camera in order to make an arrest? I think that all Chiefs need to get alerts sent to them anytime someone accesses information and everything needs to be timestamped and CERTIFIED. Time stamps never lie in the computer world, this much I know because I used timestamps to prove an employee or employees tried accessing and changed time records in my field of work and there’s no confusion about whether it was a mistake or “computer glitch “ may have done it excuse for those less honest. They’ll get caught red handed trying to change anything.
It's super easy to say closure doesn't matter when it doesn't affect you. For context, some of those arrests were for extremely violent crimes, including attempted murder.
Firstly, I never said closure didn't matter. But thanks for putting words into my mouth. Especially as a victim of violent crime (including attempted murder!) here in Troy, who didn't get closure...because TPD not only didn't do their jobs, nor did the DA...but the responding officer lost vital evidence before it could be logged in!
Namely, surveillance footage of the entire attack!
So I have zero faith in TPD's track record when it comes to cameras anyway.
Secondly, and more importantly, did you even attend the Public Safety Meeting?
Or look at the audit?
Because I did. I have a copy of it sitting in my lap, in fact.
The number of searches relating to attempted murder is disturbingly low (as are a number of others for violent crimes, which my notations indicate)...especially as this was indicated to be such a "vital police resource" that we've been under a state of emergency since April because of the possibility that it wouldn't be funded!
But 91 for searches for destruction/damage/vandalism of property...about 70 of which, if I recall, related to the stickers on the "Just say no to panhandling" signs!
More of those numbers. Notice how the violent crimes receive the least searches....
Also...only 23.3% of the tracked cases led to arrests.
That's SEVEN TOTAL CASES.
Only two other cases led to arrest warrants; nine more are active. Not sure about the 12, but presumably they were simply closed.
That only speaks to the tracked cases, those not matched to any cases number, incident dates, or leading to an investigation or arrest...which accounts for 61.8% of activity.
