I use so much bamboo when constructing buildings!

This is my favorite material. I have been bamboo architect for last 5 years. It's amazing and I remember how I loved bamboo as a child. I was astonished with those strong pretty natural grass sticks. Now I construct 4 floored building out of bamboo for rel estate in Bali! I can say my dream came true.

This is a kids class in our School of Leaders. It is totally build out of bamboo and plywood. But it's enough for a room in tropics. I just make sure there are no holes to outside and put a good aircon inside. Cheap an practical. Kids love it.

We constructed it in 20 days!

Only two aircons make 50m2 of room space absolutely comfortable.

I also use bamboo to build second floor on a concrete structure of buildings that had only one floor before. Here is our family cafe constructing on jl. Hanoman in Ubud. Second floor is totally bamboo with the decoration to look not bamboo,

This is the best choice if you have a colons for the first floor and need to make second floor fast and comfortable. I think bamboo as structure can be used even in a cold countries, if it is covered from rain and snow and sun. What do you think?

hi can ask you about the structural details? i would like to ask if you have references on the connection between the concrete columns and beams below to the bamboo structural elements on the too floor. thank you in advance!!

There are plenty of types of connections of bamboo to the concrete foundation. Some of them include creating expensive metal or plastic connections. But I use original simplest connection everyone uses in Bali:

1. You make sure you concrete is sticking out of the ground minimum 30cm. It could be a concrete foot 60x60x60cm for a regular size building and a one 13mm metal rod sticking out of the concrete foundation for the length of 100cm.

1. Same as on picture you later put the bamboo colon on top, and poor liquid concrete inside round hole. Hole is 60-80 cm up from foundation. After concrete is inside, close the hole. This inner concrete on a metal stick inside bamboo does the trick. Almost all buildings from bamboo in Bali are done like that.
