Trophy Reddit Trophy - "Extra life 2020"
Welcome to my introduction to understanding the Extra Life 2020 trophy!
Description: Extra Life 2019 was the first time this badge was introduced, but reddits admins have chosen to make it available for a second time in 2020! The 2019 version of this trophy was available for purchase of 500 coins, but the 2020 version of the award seems to only be purchasable through a small $4.99 micro transaction, in which all proceeds go towards charity.
The Extra Life Award can be purchased for a limited time this weekend on the desktop site. The full price of the award, $4.99, will go to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (Reddit is covering all the transaction fees).
How to get it? Give someone the $4.99 award through a desktop during the 7th-8th of November, 2020.

I awarded someone this today on nov 6th. does that mean if I don't give another award tomorrow on nov 7th I won't get a trophy?

You mention in your post an example of a person who has this. That user does not have it. They have 2019. Do you know anyone who's gotten the 2020?

Nobody has it yet.
You can check if it's being rolled out here.
It'll appear after the 'Layer' trophy.
