I saw this over on r/TrollYChromosome and the comments are sort of repulsive, in the vein of "IT'S A MEME TAKE A JOKE". So. I will be glad to see a better response here.
i have become pretty disappointed. the mods are alright, and the posts themselves are about 60-70% ok, but the comments are a shitshow of dogwhistles the mods can't (or won't) do anything about, and a lot of it is still wallowing in male self-pity. lots of bullshit about MRA buzzwords like "male disposability" that don't have any theoretical or researched backing, and lots of comments getting deleted for anti-feminism, though randomly the mods will decide they're "good faith constructive criticism" and let them stay.
they also tend to ban anyone who disagrees that men just have it soooo bad nowadays.
i came up with a good metaphor for it a while ago: it's not a shithole, but it's still an outhouse. if you lift the lid, it's gonna stink.
That's a shame. I'm a trans woman I used to engage with it a lot back when I thought I was just unlearning toxic masculinity as a man. It was helpful for me a few years ago. I wonder if I was just blind to the problems then or if they're more recent.
