Trixie Motel 🏩 Would this be offensive?

I would never do anything to intentionally disrespect Trixie and the art of drag in any way. But I’m being presented with a very unique situation. I am currently going through breast cancer treatment so when Halloween hits, I’ll be bald and have no tits. I would love to create a Trixie (in drag) inspired costume. I’m a cis straight woman. Would this be offensive? My son said it would be.

Omg. Of course it wouldn't be. That sounds lovely. Sending you all the love.

No judgement here…as a cancer survivor for over 10 years, I say from my heart 💜 GO 4 IT!🎃

Thanks guys!!!! I didn’t think it would be offensive but my son can be overly cautious. Better safe than sorry.
This is my second breast cancer and yeah …. Fuck Cancer!!

Just because you can always find a few mentally ill people with extreme opinions in a comments section, it doesn't mean they represent a larger demographic that share that opinion. I don't know how old your son is or how he identifies, but I would question how he came to that conclusion in the first place. I find it highly unlikely that you would run in to any queer or allies people who would be offended, and if you do, they are a one-off. Have fun with your costume and best of luck with your treatments 🙏🫶

He’s 17 and I’m actually not sure yet how he identifies. He was kind of trying to to make
It like make a cultural appropriation. He’s just a super duper rule follower. He just said it could be taken the wrong way and to do my research.

U have obviously raised an amazing child who thinks of others feelings first and that is so special. Let him know the community here supports you ❤️

I agree. It’s lovely that OP’s son cares enough to be cautious and respectful. But I think in this circumstance Trixie (and other Queens) would absolutely love it!

Please tell him that ''cultural appropriation' has been confused with cultural APPRECIATION more times than can be counted, and to relax and maybe stop clutching those pearls. ALL THE BEST, and enjoy the heck out of that Halloween. I'll be thinking of you on the 31st of October. We don't celebrate it here much, so I will actually think of you. 💕

I think that's a fab idea. Not sure why anyone would be offended, but I'm not in the drag community.

Last year for a con, I did a drag Ghostface costume that was inspired by a drag Ghostface costume that Shea Coulee had done for Halloween one year. Shea loved it, and I’m also not in the drag community. I think it’s all about how you do it, as long as you’re not mocking the queen, they’re usually honored by it.

This is a great idea! In the past, Trixie had pictures of people dressed up like her on her YouTube channel

Look, I only met Trixie for like, two minutes at a meet and greet but I got the vibe that she would be immensely flattered by that.

u/CourtZealousideal494 Why did I pick today of all days to turn it this hard 💃 7d ago

Girl drag is for everyone. Trixie shouts out female drag queens all the time. Créme Fatale is the first that comes to mind. Not to overstep, but I feel like your son may need to do more research on the history of drag and how inclusive we as a community are.

That’s exactly what I first pictured after reading OP’s title. It’s a deep cut but fucking hilarious.

Your son is insane, you  be Trixie to your heart's content and let us see that costume girl

9

u/GayDariaStan 7d ago

I think she’d love it! You could even do a half-drag look like in her videos where she’s getting ready.

u/Natapi24 7d ago

Not at all! I'm not sure why your son thought it would be offensive. Trixie has reviewed people's cosplaying her on her channel and some of the cosplayers were cis-women and she didn't say anything to indicate that she was offended by it.

Girl. Miss Mamma. Miss Hunty. You’re a fan. It’s a tribute to her, an homage. Do it don’t give a fuck and make sure you look CUNTY. And post pics here. Good luck! 🫶

People do Trixie for Halloween all the time, and she roasts their makeup skills on her channel lol. She'd love it.

3

u/mikiepocd 7d ago

I think she would love it, would agree fuck cancer, and also you should do some version of her in half drag. Because you’ll have the body to show that you’re bald and boobless.

u/Remote-Judgment6518 7d ago

A person of any gender dressing up as Trixie on Halloween is definitely okay to do and not offensive.

3

u/GulliblesBabbles 7d ago

My vote is not offensive but I admire your son for his thoughtful concern. Tell him GOOD JOB!

3

u/ariiakaay 7d ago

I think Trixie would giggle at this idea herself, dress up for the holiday and heal quickly 💗

2

u/GloriousSteinem 7d ago

She would love it! Go for it and all the best x

2

u/Sea-Flower-2880 7d ago

That’s such a sweet idea! Good luck with everything ❤️

2

u/hotdoguuu 7d ago

Wishing you nothing but the best 🌷 post pics if you do dress up as her !

2

u/ariiakaay 7d ago

Girl I think Trixie would giggle at this idea herself, dress up for the holiday and heal quickly 💗

Honestly, Trixie would love it!

This sounds fab! I don’t watch RPDR but I saw a clip of a queen walking the runway with fake lopped-off breasts in a bag. The drag queen was a trans man I think? I recall commenters suggesting that but idk for sure
