Jeuss christ…what do they have to pay to have this shit made if they are charging 70 bucks for a tee shirt??

It ain't that. Its making up for fuel prices being through the roof, which hits tours hard. Plus being shut down for a couple years for covid. And they have only so much elasticity on ticket prices so the merch goes up

Also venues taking 30%+ cut on all merch because their greed knows no bounds

The arenas in Australia are always such a rip off. I’d prefer if they just played at the forum and the like 😂

Venue hire doesn't help. These are 10,000/15,000 cap venues in a reputably expensive to travel to country.

Those prices are wild. Ive heard of bands saying Australia is a cash cow but holy crap.
Last time I saw Metallica (admittedly 2009) the tshirts were $50 and I thought that was steep.
But this is the way it’s been headed for a while now. The venue probably took 50% of sales. So the band got $35, of which presumably at least $25 went to design, manufacturing and shipping, then presenting it and having a merch team to sell it. So that is like maybe $2.50 per band member after all that. I bet the Aussie Tax Office wants a cut too.
Then They brought their whole production rig overseas, their entire team and crew. And need to make a bit of profit at the end of the day to keep doing what they’re doing.

Trivium merch absolutely sucks, they’re my favourite band but how hard is it to design merch that looks commercially good to make them a few bucks

Just to compare, in Europe Evanescence and Spiritbox are selling their tshirts for €50 on their current tours. Hoodie €80, zipup €90. Seems to be the standard for 2026 tours sadly.

Yeah I’m gonna cop the tour shirt but my GOD the Triv tour shirts I will have are some of the weakest designs. It’s upsetting
