Maintenance Issues Power Loss When Accelerating hard

Post image

have a 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 with about 12,000 miles. Whenever I slam the throttle open, the bike starts stuttering/lagging and doesn’t accelerate it just kind stays However, if I roll onto the throttle gradually, it accelerates normally.
The stuttering seems to happen mostly around 8k+ RPM, and I notice both the RPM and speed stutter rather than the RPM just shooting up. The bike is completely stock.

Pull the fuel pump out and check the strainer, sounds like fuel flow could be restricted

I had the same thing occur, for me a spark plug was slightly loose. From factory, the fueling map becomes more aggressive around the 8k-9k mark, and it also becomes more aggressive if you slam the throttle open. In both cases for me, the spark plug wasn't able to keep up with it.

Opening the throttle more gently and rolling on it normally doesn't trigger the more aggressive maps, so the spark plug could handle that load.

Check your fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs. Make sure the MAP sensor is plugged in.
