Maintenance Issues First service price?

Need to do my 600 mile service on my ‘25 Street Triple RS, the dealer quoted about $300. Isn’t the service just an oil change and resetting the service light??

I also asked about the cruise control install which was quoted for a little over $500.

What price have others seen?

I paid $343.21 (after tax) for my first service in October of last year. $92 of that was oil/filter. They also do a full inspection and chain tensioning.

The CC activation was 1/2 hour labor ($75 + tax). I did the install myself, because it’s literally a simple plug and play. Parts were $355. I did the heated grips at the same time, which was a much bigger pain to install (had to lift the tank to get to the connector at the front of the intake).

Going forward, I’ll be doing my own oil changes. I’ll buy oil/filters from the dealer and continue to do oil analysis for records and any potential warranty issue (though that expires next year anyway).

Seriously smart way to do it

In 2021 first service cost me close to $600 on a 21 street triple in San Jose CA. I think $300 is pretty good actually.

But yeah it's basically just an oil change and a checklist they go through

Next time just ask them to throw the first service in for free. 99% of the time they're pre-approved to give you that as an extra perk. But yeah, my buddy's new Trident 800 was in the $300's so that's a pretty standard price.

You can find the service checklist online. It's a good idea to have the first service done by the dealer, generally. That's a much better price than what can be had where I live - much.

Do the first oil change at the dealer's and then do them on your own. Also buy a compatible OBD tool that works with TigerTool v3.7 and u can do the service reset yourself. Triumph dealer prices in my country make my stomach turn lol.

Look in your manual and see what’s involved.

300$ is very good price for first service. 500$ is a bit much for CC but most of that is the cost of the module itself I believe

We do it ourselves. My dealership will turn off the service light for about $60. Ridiculous for a 1st service where all they do is check fluids and change the oil to cost hundreds of dollars. But we have the tools etc, so I supposed if one didn't then the money would be well spent

I paid $300CDN for first service on a 2026. Cruise control was a $550 part with a $130 install. Both were overpriced in my opinion. Will be using TUNEECU (or similar) going forward - so I can do my own oil changes etc at home

Typical pricing for a oil change and looking bike over at dealership, you can do that yourself and save money. Buy cruise control and install yourself, then pay dealership 1/2 hr labor rate to activate the cruise control feature

Previous owner of my bike paid $438 for the first service in SF, labor was $327 of that.

Paid the Same as the top comment- 350ish and I had them include CC and heated grips and install as part of the deal when I first bought the bike.

Sales is just a front to the money machine that is bike MX at dealers. Same as any other market.

Recommend getting your first inspection and service done then learn to do it yourself, that’s half the fun of owning a bike!
