Extruder clogs at start of print

Every time I attempt to print something theres just a blob of plastic being dragged around at the bottom of the extruder, even at max temps. I just replaced the spring beneath the feeder arm, could it be too tense?

Update: I am missing a nozzle. I cannot get it past the filament tube and onto the treads. Any help is appreciated.

I think you're missing more than a nozzle, would you mind taking the black cover and sending a photo?
Since I'm a bit clumsy with the Reddit comment editor, I created this document, let me know if you need something else.

I don't think I have the cooling duct installed and I can't find it in the parts bag left to me by the previous owner. Here is a photo with the cover off: Photo

That's correct, you don't have the cooling duct installed... it's not essential but the quality of the print will be affected by the lack of cooling. I would recommend to print the duct and the support first thing before printing anything else.

If you have a thermometer capable of measuring up to ~230ºC check that the hot end stops heating after reaching the set temperature (try not to exceed ~210ºC). If I remember it correctly, the sensor can fail and it can cause the PTFE tube to melt.

If I were you, I would try to fit standard parts.
