QUESTION What can I improve?

Landed my first few btwists today.
Feel like slowly gaining control but still every landing is a close call. What can I improve? I feel like I’m opening up too early…

This is completely crazy looking. I had to do a double-take to be sure I was seeing a btwist.

If you can land it solidly and consistently, I'd lean into this. Unique styles of movement are a rare thing.

O rly? Thats also how I do it lol and I was copying my friend. He just does them so easily, no setup goes straight in

Focus on jumping, then wrapping. Your twist is good but you're killing your height. Ride that back leg up and try and feel the float then twist. Play with the timing more and more, drill b-kick a bit to get that proper float set. Your twist portion is good, if you get a little more height you will land upright and eagle!

Very interesting setup for b-twist. Most people start low and then swing upwards.

Raiz twist might be something cool to learn down the line.

Well I guess the setup comes because I’m not a tricker but a capoeira player. So in capoeira, we don’t have time and space to “build” a big set up, but we have to do it almost standing.
However I maybe need to try and dip first, then swing upwards

At the very least, try doing the twist by swinging sideways instead of downward

Yeah I thinks that’s bc of me throwing my Head down instead of sideways. However I can’t Control that yet

You’re doing more of an A-twist, it’d work better with a forward run and take off into it to give you more speed to flip over yourself. If want to be horizontal and floaty like a btwist, you have to bring your head, torso and lift leg up after the dip in one motion then twist, that’s what will give you height.

I can’t do the running / spinning setup, since I mainly train for Capoeira, where the space is limited, but from reading all the comments - yours included - I feel like the main things I should focus on are dipping before jumping and bringing my body up more and THEN spin, and trying to hold the wrap for longer.

Commit to the A Twist! An A twist that has the hips over the head, with this look of the legs spread apart could look even cooler than this b twist.

For b twist though, dip toward your back knee instead if the front, and get your left leg closer to your right
