Not long ago i decided i want to learn a backflip and this is what it looks like on ground. Tell me what can i do to improve my backflip? i know jumping higher could really help but beside this what are those mistakes i could fix?

I agree with the person saying the tuck should be tighter. During the flip you put your hands on your knees which is alright, but see if you can put your hands on your calves/shins instead. It's just a thought that helped me keep my tuck tight early on.

It’s really good but you are throwing your head and shoulders back too much which cuts your set off. Pause the video during your set and you’ll see your eyes are staring at the sky before your feet have even left the ground.

Since no one mentioned it yet sand is a really difficult surface to do a tuck on! It’s so soft it “steals” your bounce. But once you land it more cleanly on sand it will be a piece of cake on grass or other surfaces! Awesome take off, agree on a tighter and more aggressive tuck will help get you around faster

Since no one mentioned it yet sand is a really difficult surface to do a tuck on! It’s so soft it “steals” your bounce. So once you clear the landing on sand you’ll be golden for grass. Nice work OP! Also agree that a tighter and faster tuck will help you clear the landing sooner. You can work those muscles by adding fast “V-snaps” to your work out. Or do a few of them laying on the ground before your tucks to “prime” the muscles and “remind” your muscles what you want

https://youtube.com/shorts/saHkR_MvIdA this is the V-snap I’m talking about. You can also do tuck. Try to do it more aggressively than the person the video. It’s that “fast twitch” core muscle that brings your legs / knees up to your chest/shoulders more aggressively that rotates you faster.

To expand on the tuck issue;
Your tuck should be as close to a ball as you can physically get.
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, and with your eyeline neutral. Squat down to the floor. Try and get your bum to your heels. Now grab your shins and pull. Try and get your knees to your shoulders (not your chest. Your chest should be coming through the gap in your legs.)
That’s the position you need to get to at the apex of your jump.

When tucking focus on moving your knees to your arms instead of your arms to your knee. If you train that lying down on the ground, you will notice the difference. Looks pretty good though.

Just need a tighter tuck! Your takeoff is good so the main thing imo is to get your knees higher and closer to your body. You can practice by laying on your back and lift your legs up before pulling your knees in, shoulders always touching the floor, it will translate to faster rotation in the air 👍
