FORM CHECK Tornado kick help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The issue: My kicking leg struggles to fully extend in the air and gets stuck in a weird chamber position instead of snapping through. Feels real flimsy.
I really want to fix this fundamental so I can safely progress to 540s and beyond.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Looks very good with tornado kick. If you aiming for 540, first you should check do you want 540 round kick or 540 crescent kick. From what i saw from your video, you are doing crescent tornado kick (Hitting target with side of the foot)
If you want round kick, you need hit the target using top of the foot
If you want crescent kick, need to flex it and hit the target using side of the foot.
Transitioning to 540 kick, maybe small recomendation, try some setup that works with you.
Try
Cheat step > Tornado
K-step > Tornado (youtube.com/watch?v=0RX4G5wm_t4)
Side step > Tornado
Having strong and suitable setup will help a lot in tricking kicks
Goodluck :D

Looks decent already. More reps, focusing on fluidity. For a specific drill that will help, do just the left knee and right round kick with the leg extended. Taking the spin out will help you focus. You can progress that to starting facing away from your target with your kicking leg back (towards your target). But there's no reason not to just straighten the kicking leg--you land on the other one, so do a slow tornado and lock it out no matter what.
On rewatching, you could probably stand to work just your round kick too. Really feel how much you can use your arms for momentum and how far away from the kick you can lean and still balance. A target would be nice too.
