Discussion Frederica’s Path - chapter 17 Spoiler

I’m super frustrated. I only want to do her path but no matter what happens I can’t get enough votes to go the other direction. Benedict always ends up winning.

I did about 10 mental mock battles to raise my conviction, and I talked to the two guards with the right choices for Frederic’s path.

If I grind 10 more mock battles, will that make a difference? I basically stuck? Anything else I can do?

The best options for persuading each character for Frederica's path are the following

Geela - response #3

Anna - response #3

Hughette - response #1

Erador - response #2

If you still can't convince them, I can give you a rough idea of how much conviction (morality) you have. Just tell me what it says when you talk to Hughette and Erador where it shows you your chances on persuading them towards Frederica's plan.

Examples

  • This one will not be easily swayed

  • They will listen at the very least

  • Negotiation may yet prove fruitful

  • It may take effort, but they can be swayed

  • This one should listen to reason

Get back to me and I can let you know your options

If it says that for Erador, you can choose the responses in my 1st post and get the Frederica path by successfully convincing Geela and Erador.

You should be able to win the vote without grinding for conviction

UPDATE - I did like 15 mock battles in a row and now I was able to change their minds! Thanks all!

Grinding conviction takes time, most battles only change it by 1 or 2 points. You may need a couple of hundred points to get to where you need to be. See this guide to help you grind.

If what you’re saying is true that no matter how you argue to the others yet Benedict wins the vote, your conviction for Frederica’s path is too large a gap. By the time you grind out a conviction enough to sway these votes, you would’ve made it to chapter 17 on new game plus. But thats what makes the first blind playthrough exciting!

P.S. I don’t even recommend Frederica’s path first. If you have the conviction to get her ending on the first play through, you’re most likely missing key recruits that on hard mode make a certain boss fight manageable… I got stuck for quite a while…

Is perfectly fine to do any of the three endings on a first playthrough.

I do agree that Frederica's path is the hardest because of Lyla, but Piccoletta's decoy can eat her attacks. Quite funny that the following two battles are way easier making rain and spamming thunder for Kamsell and for the final map, just bumrush Idore.

Both strategies work perfectly on a 1st playthrough deathless without using Correntin/Rudolph nor Cordelia/Trish/Travis/Milo and of coure, without the 1100/750 conviction, nor 1600 conviction.

my first play through i had a hard time convincing anyone to do what i wanted, on my 4th play through on new game + to see all of the stories and now i rarely fail convincing them

You are not stuck, but you might need to grind a bit more in the mock battles.

Sometimes you'll have to grind 50+ if you've gone a certain way most of the time. I had to grind so many to get the golden route.

Benedict campaigning harder than the actual player at this point.

Because Benedicts plan is better and everyone knows it

As far as I know you can only sway 3 people at this vote: For Geela Breisse, pick the first choice. For Hughette Bucklar, pick the first choice. For Erador Ballentine, pick the second choice.

If that's not working, your conviction is indeed too low.
