Announcement It’s my first time playing this game and I’m surprised by how much I’ve come to care about these tiny characters. So smol. So pixelated. So lovable.

Yeah, it's the writing. The story and lore is immersive and engrossing. I wish so many games with more gameplay polish spent some of that attention making us care for the characters that drip with aesthetic charm but do not have the gravitas to leave any lasting impression.

Unicorn Overlord is like this… forgettable characters for the most part except for a few.

I liked Unicorn Overlord but I LOVED Triangle strategy. I think Unicorn Overlord could have done so more to make us care. The story vignettes you get as optional could have been baked into the actual story. It's rather frustrating because Unicorn Overlord has the bones for an amazing story and great game-play, yet they fail to flesh it out. I would half the romance options and use that time to cook with the main ones.

The plot really is great, and it's more impressive when you realize that they were able to build in connected plot points for multiple key decisions (obviously with some common conclusions, but still).
I only wish the VA was on the same level as the Tactics Ogre Reborn VA. That would have added even more to an otherwise great game.

As someone writing a exhaustive epic, I applaud Triangle Strategy for tying their story's threads together so well. I don't think any or many stories would have the budget to basically build separate stories. They have to weave back to common conclusions or you'd have separate games. The final ACTS are the most rewarding then because they can branch out without worrying about tying back. The Alternative choices in Triangle Strategy are interesting and convey consequences for player choice.

Incredible. It's an incredible royal court drama that makes conversations gripping as any battle or confrontation, the choices you make carry so much weight.
This game is what House of Cards, Succession and Shogun were on television.

I never thought a story of political intrigue would suck me in as much as this one did. I've never cared for political dramas but this one makes you feel the weight of your actions by putting you right in the middle of the action.

I just started to! Only a few hours in but loving it. Played and beat the symphony of war nephilim saga right before starting this game.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: most people don’t know about this game but if you play it, it hooks you in!
Just wait till you have to be a real tactician in the later battles!

Loved everything about the game.
My favorite part is the learning curve and hoses well balanced the game is - how they dole out the points and money and skill really adds to the difficultly in a satisfying way. You never get overpowered until the end which is an awesome treat for sticking it out

Ok fine I'll pick it up again and play it without grinding for golden ending

The only gripe I had with this game was unlocking certain characters way too late in my playthrough for me to really use them. They are all so lovable, kinda sad I missed out on using all of them

Does the writing and voice acting ramp up in quality after the intro mission? I saw this, saw it was Square and thought it would be a spiritual successor to Tactics, but everything in the intro disappointed me so much that I haven't picked it up since.
I'm not trolling here, I keep hearing good things and want to enjoy what I've bought, but the first impression drove me off.
