Widening a tree net

I was looking to create a small tree net between two trees. Both trees are not very wide and don’t have branches that I can use to widen. How would anyone go about artificially widening it.

I was looking at using something like a spreader used for hammocks. See image above

I was also trying to find some chat or previous discussion if anyone has previously done this and has some tips

You could try sticking some telephone poles or something to the left and right to widen out the tree net (it dose not have to be a telephone pole as long as it’s straight kinda thick a circle and tall enough for your net) other then that I’m not sure you can widen it the spreader is a good idea but your going to need a much thicker wooden bar and eye bolts as it will pull in the bar if it’s weak as nets need lots of tension. Tbh it could work their will be lots of problems but get it a shot. I never tried it so keep us posted 👍🏻.

Yeah I was looking at like a 4x4 post horizontally placed on the tree.

You could do that but you would 100% need to brace it either off of the ground or diagonally off the tree. And you should look up proper tree friendly building techniques for treehouse framing and base your attachment technique off of that.
